How much money would you spend for your wedding?

Hey, I am just asking, just for the future I guess, how much money do you think would be the ideal amount for a nice and modern wedding? I have seen on TV and other people, saying that these days, to have a nice modern wedding it is ideal to have at least $21,000. I was truly shocked and that is one reason why I have posted this, so you people can correct me if I am wrong. But seriosuly, I also know some people who have spent around $17,000 for their wedding. The wedding was actually quite nice, there were hundreds and hundreds of people, and when we came to a place one night to have a nice dinner, you couldn't even see from one side to the other unless you have good eye sight (or glasses lol). So please give your general opinions on how much you have either spent if you feel comfortable sharing, or how much you would spend :D Thanks!

I could not really pinpoint an amount that would say that it is the amount that I'll spend for my wedding. But then, this is becuase my wedding is not in the forseeable future.lol Definitely, I wouldn't be going over board coz I am a very practical person. I might not go for the other details/traditions when it comes to the ceremony itself. As for inviting people, I don't see why I have to invite hundreds and hundreds of people to my wedding. Basically because I just want family and close friends to be present. I don't want to invite people who would just be there on the wedding and wouldn't be known to me for the rest of my married life!
