Hi, I am just getting over a horrible cold with a terrible cough! I saw your post and thought I would share somthing that really helped me. Try some "Traditional Medicinals" Throat Coat tea. It's wonderful! Be sure to brew it acoording to the directions. It was the only thing that soothed my throat. Also, try some L-Lysine it is very good for sore throats. Good Luck and I hope your daughter feels better.

Yes, I think some taditional medicine (herbal medicine) will do work. I like to use traditional chinese medicine for my son when he is sick. Most respiratory infeciton caused by virus which is not sensitive to western medicine. Have a try.

My mom always cook chicken soup for me when i have dry cough. I know it sounds weird since it is more applicable to colds. But it works for me though ans it tastes good. And when i have dry cough i drink lukewarm water as often as i can. And the funny thing is that i keep on saying to my self that this cough is just psychological, and still i cough. I hope daughter is okay now popppoppop111

my daughter had a terrible cough i think last month. that one night, we just found her coughing and the cough is too dry that she seems to be having an asthma attack. But she does not have asthma. And since it was past one midnight, we can't go to the hospital and we can't reach her pediatrician. So we hurriedly searched on the internet for a possible first aid. We read that it will help if we get her out of the house to breathe in fresh, misty air. It will help to clear her breathing. And then if we have a nebulizer, it's also good to do that to clear anything from blocking her lungs. It helped some as my daughter was able to sleep after that although she was still coughing.

I was told by a nurse that to help this kind of thing you can soak an onion in boiling hot water for 15-20 mins. Then add brown sugar. Then take a couple of teaspons of this. It really seems to work even though it smells bad. And the brown sugar makes it taste sweet so thatit is easier to drink. I hope this helps.

Yes, go to visit a pediatrician and he'll give you the professional advices. I think children have poor resisitance to pathogen and it usually changes fastly. Control it before it changes. Good luck for your little girl.

I have a child who has been coughing this whole month, I have taken her to doctors for several times and she improved but still cough a little. However personally I really cough all night which makes me sleepless, and I have been like that for years every winter. Well I am afraid that my child has the same problem as I do, since I have tried all the medicines possible and still cought a lot at night.

I have a really dry scratchy throat right now, and it is making me cough a bit. Will she drink hot tea? Or at least warm? You could try giving her a cup of tea with some honey in it. The honey should help coat her throat and make the coughing not so bad. I hope she gets to feeling better soon.

Hello poppoppop! I also once had a dry cough and I know how hard it is. My mom used to let me eat orange juice, let me drink a lot of water and take some medicine. If it doesn't work, you're right, better consult a doctor about it.
