I think Israel has all the right to attack Gaza City to defend itself, the rockets fired from the outskirts of Gaza City is a straight violation of Israel's right to live in peace. To avert what had happened, Palestine should have stopped those perpetrators from doing the said terroristic maneuvers. The Palestine authorities are the only ones to blame for the deaths in Gaza city as the result of the Israeli army's onslaught. Any country that would have this rocket attacks would do the same.

It is really hard to determine which is which already. the conflict in Israel is so much more complicated already. It stemmed out early in during the time Jewish were just part of Palestine, then after WWII they were given the right to establish their own state with the help of many western worlds. Unfortunately the Palestinian state was not recognized by many it resulted to revolt against Israel. Hearing their voice they were also granted their right to become independent state though the once vast lands is now just a small strip of land. Being an Arab country there are those countries that are sympathetic to them supported them by giving them arms which made it more complicated as they have resorted to terrorism to claim more of the lands they claim to be theirs. Of course Israel being able to manage their land and resources become the superior country in the Mid East. It is really hard to justify an act of war. Many innocent lives are always the ones that are victims because of these. Their lives are forever tainted and traumatized and the cycle of violence will forever go on and on, generations to generations.

I totally agree with you that there are many innocent lives thar are and were always the victims of these wars, but if it is the peace and freedom of one's country that are in stake, it is the inherent right of the country to defend itself. Yes, the state of Israel had claimed their "biblical" land from the Palestines, but the prices had been paid, from the atrocities committed to them from the time of Ben Gurion, to the 1972 Munick Olympic hostages to the terroristic small ang large intrusions and killings inside Israel, I think Israel should now be considered and given the due respect just like any other nations in the world. And it is their inherent right to defend themselves whenever they find that they are in peril.

I find it rather hard that they are defending themselves, they are rather retaliating in my opinion. I would understand if they would bomb certain part they suspect to be homing terrorists but then invading the whole land is not acceptable anymore and the killing of children and residential areas are bombed is for me a little over anymore.
