If you don't think this is 3rd hand smoke, there is!

I was just listening in on the news that my hubby was watching when I came across something quite interesting but annoying. We've all heard about how second hand smoke is quite dangerous for non smokers, in most cases it's more risky to breath it in while the smoker is breathing it out. Well now there's a third hand smoke and this is the chemicals left on fabric such as your clothing, furniture, rugs.. etc...it seems to hold on to chemicals such as lead, carbon and all the little additives in cigarettes
Even if you do smoke outside, it's still not good enough? They mentioned that it's the small children who it is going to harm the most because after we have a smoke, we touch things also and leave it behind on furniture and other things so little children are in contact with everything that smokers have touched
What do you think would be more harmful breathing in second hand smoke? Or having contact with third hand smoke?

Ok - so this one had me laughing..... hard!
I am willing to bet that there are just as many deaths by third hand smoke as there is by second hand? NONE!
There is not one single documented case of any body dying even from first hand smoke! Yes, I am a smoker. Yes it is obnoxious - so is the lady that bathes in her perfume. I am sure it isn't very healthy, but I am willing to go outside to do it! It is a legal substance and the tax money collected from this pays for an awful lot. Why do you think it hasn't been made illegal?

I also answered to a discussion on marajuana too about if we mylotters thought that it should become legal and I answered no because as if the government doesn't make enough off of everything else so why give them a piece of the pie with more taxes going through that?
I am a smoker but I smoke outside so that's not good enough apparently. I still smoke in my vehicle but not when my son is present so basically I'm not suppose to do that either because it's lingering in the fabric on the seats in my truck.

Boy just what will they come up with next! I am so tired of hearing about 2nd hand smoke now they have a third this is geting really rediculous! Getting like eggs are bad for you then eggs are good for you.
SUn is bad but then get more sun for vit. D
I think they really need to get on with other things like curing cancer! and most cancers are NOT cause by smoking!

I think second hand smoke is more harmful. You can always wash your hands after you smoke but you can't make second hand smoke any better. We have been smoking in the house and I can see how it is affecting our daughter. We are moving this weekend so I would like us to start smoking outside once we move. My husband won't do that but I will. I can't change him I can only change myself.

Before I had my son I was an indoor smoker. When I had him, I was a part time indoor smoker so when he would go to his dad's place on the weekend I would smoke inside my place. For the last 5 years or so I just quit smoking indoors for him.

I would imagine that breathing in the smoke would be worse. That is actually very understandable but 3rd hand smoke? That seems to be a bit far-fetched. I think I would need to hear some pretty convincing studies to convince me that this could be a serious threat.

3rd hand smoke? For real? All I know is how hard it is to get smoke off mirrors and walls, lol. My parents smoked for years, so I'm sure I got plenty of the second hand smoke. But 3rd? I would say the 2 is worse than the 3rd.

3rd hand smoke? Well, that's new information. Until there is a credible research proving that 3rd hand smoke exist and mentions its effects I would remain doubtful. I would say that 2nd hand smoke is definitely more harmful that 3rd hand because there are statistical information on 2nd hand smoke. Great information by the way.

Well, its no better than the Chemicals the Government put into our atmosphere that is causing all the sinus problems and now apparently Autism (they said it's linked to rain...only one way that can be true). But yeah I mean I hate the smell of smoke and all but I don't think it's that harmful as a third hand thing. I am constantly around chain smokers, I do not smoke myself and I have clear lungs.
