Have you ever given blood?

I've never given blood. They make it such a pain if you have any tattoos which I have, so I don't even bother anymore but they are always doing blood drives in my area.
Have you ever given blood? Did you have any trouble? Tell us what the experience was like?

There was once I tried to donate blood before but I was rejected due to a tick. The tick is for " Does any of your family member has Hepatitis A/B/C?" Since my brother is Hepatitis B carrier, therefore,Iput a tick there and consequently, my application to be a donor was rejected even I told them I have taken vaccine before but they still refuse. So after that incident, I never donate blood anymore.

I look at it this way - yes, they have to be safe but if they really needed blood that badly, they'd take it. Just cause I have tattoos doesn't mean I spread disease just like with you, your brother had hep not you!

actually where i live there is a phone number to call to add yourself to the blood donor list and they let you know when a clinic is going on in your town. well i got an answering machine and they say leave your name and number and someone will call you back. well that was 5 years ago and i'm still waiting, maybe i'll have to call again. i'd like to give blood but also for a while i couldn't cause you have to wait 5 years after getting a tattoo but i could do it now

They have a number!! That is awesome. I wonder if there's anything like that around where I live. It's been about five years since my last tattoo, maybe I should see if I can donate blood now.

Never given blood in my entire life maybe because we all know it hurts being injected with large bore needles and get a large amount of our blood. Get dizzy for a while.. but anyway, I just saw some people who donated blood but I really don't want to try it. Because I get weak when I saw red blood...

I have donated blood 5 times. It is not at all painful. First time I was very much afraid about the pain. But it was like that a mosquito had bitten me. It feels good when you donate blood to some one.
