do you feel bad when something comes up and you have to leave work early. i'm really dedicated to work and hate missing. however my daughter is sick and i have to leave early to make it on time for the walk in clinic to have her checked out. i know that's more important at the moment but i hate letting other people down. makes me feel bad when i can't make everyone happy and satisfied

If you leave early upon your boss' permission, I don't think you need to be guilty. However, if you sneak out, leaving your work, yes you need to be guilty as a dedicated employee. Feeling bad or not will depend on who we are.

It feels bad because it doesn't feel good leaving someone you want to share the whole day with at home. I experienced that with my husband... Sometimes, I want to make the nights longer... so that I can spend more time in bed just hugging and watching him sleep... SOmetimes I even tell myself... ayyy... morning again, has to get up... has to work... and look forward to the weekend when we can get up sooo late without having to care about the time.

As much overtime as we work (and don't get paid for), no I don't feel bad. Sometimes I feel annoyed when I end up having to take off more than my husband does because I work closer to home. But not that annoyed since I can just log on and work from home if I want to.
