My son went with his friend to see "Valkyrie", starring Tom Cruise. He said that it was the 2nd worst movie he had ever seen (the first being "10,000BC") He felt there was so action, poor acting, and it was generally uninspiring. He has been talking about how terrible it was for almost two weeks now. He and his friend will occasionally look at each other and just go "VALKYRIE! Arrrrrrghhhhhhhhhh!" They are utterly sick about having seen it! Have you ever seen a movie that was so bad that you just couldn't let it go? Did you beat yourself up about it for weeks? What was it? What made it so horrible?

Those were my thoughts too. Actually my son is not a fan of his either but because of the storyline, he was hoping it would be an exception. Thanks:)

The reviews were so good. Do you think that he is too young to understand about Hitler et al? He may not have understood what Hitler was planning to do and these men tried to stop the man. I was planning on seeing this movie when it came. I am not a big Tom Cruise fan but I thought that a film on this era would be interesting. Now I'll wait and talk to someone who has seen it.LOL Blessings

He read up on the storyline. He's rather a brilliant boy (I'm not just being biased here)and somewhat a history buff. He was really disappointed in it. He said there was no suspense and Tom Cruise seemed to be really over the top. Have you seen any flops like that?

Thanks, Cynthi! How's the weather by you? We had ice this morning on the roads and school was cancelled. This is our 4th snow day already!

Then I won't both to go and I was planning to see this movie. I am not a Tom Cruise fan and have always been disappointed with his films. I must be blind but I cannot see why he is rated as a great star. I've been disappointed by many movies but for the life of me, none come to mind at this time. My husband adored cowboy movies and we saw the 'Magnificent My boys will call me foirm across th world to tell me that this movie will be showing on cable tonight and that I mustn't give it a miss! LOL Yeh, right! Blessings

no I don't beat myself up over movies, and I rarely go, but I will not like a movie then forget about as quickly as that.

I'm generally like that too. Although with the price of a movie ticket nowadays, I want to read a lot of reviews before I go. Thanks:)

Don't think I've seen one that was that bad. The most disappointing one recently was Journey to the Center of the Earth. Richard and the kids liked it but it was just not believable for me.

We saw that one too. My daughter and I enjoyed it but my husband and son were in the mood to mock it that night. Yes, it was rather unbelievable. I agree with that!

Everything I've heard about this movie was good, the people I've talked to that seen it gave it rave reviews. I myself probably wouldn't go see it, because it has something to do with history and I always hated history especially in school...lol. But the people I know who watched it are all in their late 40's and early 50's, I don't know what age your son is, that may be the case. There was a movie that I rented one time, and I wished I never did, I couldn't hardly get into it, we watched all of it, but we agreed that it was awful, and we'll never watch it again, I think it was called There Will Be Blood, about this guy that went around buying up land to build oil rigs on. It wasn't good...

It could be his age, he's only 14. But he is generally a pretty good judge of a good movie and he seemed to understand the storyline beforehand. He's actually very much into history. Anyway......they seem to have a lot of fun really, agonizing over this flop!

Hi, I have seen Valkryrie. It wasn't supposed to be an action type movie. It is based on a true event about people trying to pull off a coup d'etat to spare Germany from the actions (ethnic cleansing)done by Hitler. But to each their own!

I guess my son was expecting more suspense and found it to be rather poorly put together. He's actually a history buff and appreciates the story line but just thought it was really a bad movie. I wasn't there so I don't know. What about the question? Have you seen a really bad movie lately that you are regretting having seen?

The worst movie I regret seeing. The Blair Witch Project. It was terrifying to think people could actually be stupid enough stay when they are supposidly getting scared and yet they stay and still stay and stay.I would have left that forest long ago. Only thing good about that outing was going to dinner just before the Blair Witch Project.

wow, thanks for the heads up...it looked so good in the commercials. i am a huge history fanatic so any movie that is history related really piques my interest. the movie that i saw was called havana. i was working at a magazine and we used to get passes to movies on their opening nights in my city and so fortunately, all it cost me was time and the popcorn but still, it was so boring!

I saw the movie "Elizabethtown" in theatres with my ex and we weren't halfway through it when I turned to him and said, "Is this really sucking as bad as I think it is?". "Yep", he replied. And out we walked. It was literally the only movie I've ever walked out of. He was so grateful that we walked out of it and even remarked on how disappointed he was that he couldn't get those 45 minutes of his life back. I was so embarrassed for the actors. What a piece of garbage that script was! I guess I went into it with high hopes. Everyone kept making comparisons to "Garden State", and since I loved that movie, I went and was so disappointed. 10,000 BC was pretty bad, though, too! :)

Hi rocketj1 Ohh there are too many to remember... the absolute worst is an old dustin hoffman one called 'Ishtar' whew did that stink! A lot of the remakes are pretty crummy! 'The Leauge of Extraordinary Gentlemen' was a pretty awful acion/adventure even though it had a great cast and the comic was brilliant - the guy who played Dr Jeykl and Mr Hyde was cool! 'Shrooms' has to be one of the most generic crap horror films ever.... 1 minute into it and you know who dunnit!'queen of the damned' was absolute **** yet the book is amazing. If I've been to the cinema to see it, and its crap , I do get mad. I can forget about it, but there are just the odd one or two films that stick in your head for being staggeringly bad! I'd give tom cruise a chance.. he played the most amazing incarantion of the vampire Lestat in 'Interview with a Vampire'

they should have remade 'Where Eagles Dare' or 'The Eagle has Landed' - absolute brilliant war films!

It's that bad? Oh! I was hoping to watch and enjoy it in big screen I mean the trailer looks good, I thought it's an exciting and inspiring movie with the fact that it deals with catching/killing the German dictator. I thought it would be full of suspense and thrilling scenes. That's disappointing. I guess I'll just have to watch it in my computer then. I can give Tom Cruise a chance

I've heard the same about Seven Pounds,I have the movie on my computer and still want to watch it but that is quite discouraging. My not-the-latest disappointment was The Mummy 3,I expected more Also, why did they have to change the actress? That one was nothing like the original!

I haven't seen the film all the way through but only a couple of months ago was I asked to complete a survey on it and give my opinion. Watched the trailer several times but must admit it really didn't blow me away. Now a big fan of war films anayway and didn't think the actors featured in it were great enough to make it worth watching. Think i'll give this film a miss when I next go to the cinema and don't know what to watch.

I enjoyed the movie. It brings out apart of history that i didn't know untill seeing the movie. I don't know why he didn't like it. Maybe they are too young to understand it. I don't know but i enjoyed it.
