"If you aren't familiar with Twitter, it is one of those things, like MySpace, that sounds totally ridiculous and stupid when you first hear about it. But once you start using it, you realize how much fun it is."
This is a quote from their home page and even Barack Obama is twittering.
Great for staying in touch and promoting.

Funny I was just talking to someone about Twitter. I don't know much about the site really but the other day I was reading an article about Jonathan Ross exposing fake celebrities on there. It sounds interesting - I hate MySpace mind you so if it's similar to that I'm not sure I'll like it much but I'll take a look anyway. Thanks for the link!

It's less like Myspace than anything I can think of. Posts have to be short and sweet as you only get 140 characters to state it!
In that 140 you can include a url link to a blog or website.

No, but it's a great way to network your other activities by putting a referral link, or blog link, or url in the posts you make

I'm still quite new to Twitter and I'm finding it fun. Obama has not Twittered since he won the election, but maybe he will start again when he takes over, or get someone to do it for him.
I follow John Cleese, and Stephen Fry, who is at present filming in New Zealand for the BBC. I have found a few other genuine celebrities there too.
My twitter link can be found on my profile.
