What industries are hiring right now, and which are firing?

I would have to say in the USA there are two fields that are hiring the first is the food service industry. The other is the medical field. I would have to say its because people need to eat and people still get sick. So as long as thats happening those two fields will continue to be hiring.

well in my country... the education sector is an ever-green industry. Given that the government has just promoted having babies and all, they are planning to open up more childcare centres to accommodate working mothers. So if you're a teacher, you're in luck.

The only ones I've heard of are the medical fields, even fast food places are laying off here, it's really getting bad.

I have no idea everything seems to be shutting down and going broke in England they say we might have aboom time in the leisure industry with everybody coming over from America for their vacation because of the weak pound so come on over and have a great time.They are laying off at Nissan car factory at the moment and quite a few of our famous shop chains are either going broke of laying people off,Woolworths and Marks &Spencer which have been around all my life and longer are going broke.It is really frightening the building industry are alaying people off like crazy that is what men used to do if they lost their job they would go labouring on a building site until something came along but not these days,my husband is a HGV1 driver and they are in demand thank goodness.I send my good wishes to anybody having ahard time and things will get better for you.lolove

now its only service sector(FMCG) which is providing employment rest r firing the employees.

Most of the industries are hiring, but in less numbers compared to before... when it comes to firing i think now also if one is efficient enough there is no problems in indian industries... only the less efficient are under the fire. happy myloting

In the UK, estate agencies and car sales firms are both definitely firing. Hiring? Maybe pawnbrokers?
