STOP! That flashing!

I agree, it's annoying; but it get's your attention.

Yes, I am also very annoyed regarding this flashing thing every time I logged in here. Sometimes I just don't mind it and just proceed with the discussions. Do not cancel it or hit the close button because it will just reappear and open the content, just ignore it anyway it will just vanish.

It's been bothering me for a couple weeks now. It's twinking as I type this. I'm still visitor #999,999 too. Now how can that be? Is that my permanent number like at an auction house? Are you by any chance #999,998 or #1,000,0000?

I get enough of it real fast.

I'm trying a new tactic tonight. Instead of answering through my emails I decided to go to the friends started tab. That way I could see the whole discussion before I posted a response. When I saw this one I thought it looked familiar. The number of responses here must be a record.

i dont think iv seen that one but the one that annoys me like crazzzzyyy is the one with the little emoticons you can download and everytime you roll your mouse over it it says "HELLO.. WHAT?" and it scares me every single time and then i just get frustrated

It annoys me as well. but i do understand that mylot needs adverts othwerise how the webmaster is able to pay all the mylotters here? Adverts are a necessary evil in my opinion.

It is definitely very aggravating and distracting. I'm slowly trying to train myself to ignore it....but that's easier said than done. LOL

i totally agree with you. the ones that bug me the most are the little angel and devil that laugh. they always scare me because i dont take time to look up at the top generally. i guess now that they dont use ebay (for whatever reason) they have to make their money somehow eh?

Are you kidding?! They're so annoying that they give me an awful headache!! I have to scroll down so that I don't see it anymore and can concentrate on what I want to type but can't with that damned flashing going on. I agree, mylot needs the advertizers but damn they could control WHAT they put up!

The one that annoys me are the speaking emiticons..they are awful, and so annoying when trying to post or close the page, it is so easy to put the cursor on one as well and you hear it talking to you...wish that could be taken off!! littleowl

The flashing ones don't bother me nearly as much as the darn talking ones. I can ignore the flashing ones much easier. But they're annoying, just not as much to me.

haha we share the same fate dear friend. i also got those flashing all the time. and it makes me jerk-up thinking i am having a virus attack in my computer and i cant loose my files!! and its so much of a distraction.. i don't know why mylot allows such trolls. but iam enjoying my self here minus the flashing you've-won-the-lottery thing.

I get the Congratulations one about being the almost millionth vistor every day!. But I seem to be able to block it out. as I read the posts from my email sort of easy to do as I just duck my head and type lol

I know what you mean - and the bright flashing lights can even trigger seizures in those prone to them. But, I'll take them any day over those evil talking ones that say (and lie), "Congratulations! You have been selected to receive a free Apple iPod." It's never true and it selects everyone (and you know damned well not everyone would ever get a free iPod), plus the nasally voice makes you want to rip out her vocal cords through your internet connection. So, I'm glad they no longer have that one and instead have the flashing ones. They are annoying, but not nearly as much as the other one. If they hadn't stopped having them, I'd have stopped using myLot entirely.

I hate it. Additionally, it is very bad for people with migraine headaches. Certain flashing can be a trigger for those sufferers. I'm glad you found out how to stop it.
