I love to cook and explore different types of dishes, however I find some recipe's difficult to cook. Do you have any simple recipes that you may want to share? Also, I love to hear stories about the recipe's your sharing, like what make's it special to you, what do you remember every time you cook that recipe. Why I want it this way? Simply because I want to feature those who shared their recipe's on my blog with their stories. Happy moments, happy days. You can send your stories at recipehotline@yahoo.com

Hi mayshella, they say that bitter gourd is good for people who are diabetic. One way of cooking it is saute it with garlic, onion and then tomatoes. They say it could lower blood sugar level. What kind of recipes are you interested in aside from dishes that can be served to people with diabetes? I am fond of cooking but I usually cook local dishes. Our dishes here were usually tamarind base soup, we love sour dishes.

Hi Pehpot!!! Your nick reminded me of my previous office mate who's very jolly. =) well, any kind of recipes will do, may it be local dishes or international dishes. So long I can find the ingredients in the supermarket. Bitter gourd is always present in my menu, however, it's kinda "nakakasawa na" so I need to have some back up dishes to replace every now and then. It's so hard to decide what to cook if one member of your family has diabetes.

I hope that you will find the above helpful. You will also need to be aware that exercising is equally important for the management and recovery for this condition. So, please do take care and all the best for 2009 for the both of you.
Cheers.

mayshella,
I have been a care giver since my childhood days so, I have learnt quite a bit from every quarters. It is not easy at all in the beginning and it takes time and a little creative initiatives to help manage certain situations.
Just be tactful and firm at all times and learn to be creative with creating tastes with healthy alternative ingredients. Knowledge is really power here.
Take care.

Hello there SKy!!! Well, I haven't checked the links yet. I'll try to check it tomorrow. Need to sleep now. I hope that would help me create more dishes for my husband. Well, I've been telling him to do some exercise but he's just lazy to do it. So, to cut his cholesterol down, I make it appoint that his going to have only 1 cup of rice every meal.

Hi Sky!! I really appreciate your response. So are you a care giver? Good thing you know more things about this. I think I need to read more about diabetes so I know how to handle things. And it's true that sometimes we need to be heartless in dealing with this kind of things for their own good but I can't avoid being hurt seeing my husband not satisfied with what he is eating. But what can I do but have his meal measured, I don't want to see Him suffer at the end because of the complication that may arise.
