When on automatic update, windows regularly check for important updates and install them. I think regularly check process can slowdown my internet connection, so I turn off the automatic update.

No, i always turn off the automatic update. My Hard Drive only 20GB, and that update need more free space to do installation on your system, if you want to update the windows. All progress will be slow, if your windows always checking auto update.

I will not turn the automatic updates on as I agree with you too. It does slowsdown my computer. They say that, you should turn it on because it helps prevent any threads and keeps your computer up-to-date. But, since I do not have any important things in my computer, I need not have to worry about any threats. Well, keeping your computer up-to-date is important too so, I will update my computer manually once a month so I do not get left back behind.

Right, update once a month is enough. To speed up downloading it can use autopatcher, usually release once a month too.
Have a nice day.
