be truthful, did you wait till you are 21 to have your first drink? do you know anybody who waited till 21 to have their first drink? Around the world including conservative India and China, the legal age for drinking alcohol is 18 years. Being an adult means we are supposed to be responsible for our decisions and our choices, so why can't WE make the choice. Why do we want to continue a law that pushes pretty much all of America's youth into BREAKING THE LAW?

i think they shouldnt lower the age to 18 because since the margin is 21 most people would eventually start drinking at around 18 since the law are unable to 100% stop underage drinking ,but if the legal age was made into 18 dont think young people would start drinking at an earlier age which would be around 14-16 which makes more underage drinking people and little bit dangerous cuz they might cause bad influence to people around them, which in turn might also increase the crime rate of the country

Dude, noone HAS to drink. Sorry, but I honestly don't care if the drinking age is 18 or 21 as long as at some point in time we don't turn so many blind eyes and actually enforce whatever the law tends to be. But make no mistake, drinking is a choice - and not someone everyone HAS to do. I don't drink -- I'm 37, and I'm glad I'm dry.
Say we lower the age to 18, can we at least still make and effort for 14 and 15 year olds aren't drinking? Or will we just be 'pushing them in BREAKING THE LAW' too?

I didn't wait until I was 21 because I grew up in England where the legal drinking age is 18. I think that if they are considered old enough to make the proper decision when they vote at 18 then they should be allowed to buy a drink at that age. Kids are getting what they want to drink anyway so make it legal and let the police spend the time they do looking for underage drinkers on looking for crooks etc.

No the age limit to drink should not be lowered! IF anything, drinking should be abolished altogether! 18 year olds are too irresponsible to drink responsible. There are too many innocent people being killed by drunk drivers and other stupidity caused by drinking.
