hello friends.. i am from india and i am planning to buy a new laptop.. i a looking for the fast speed along with more battery backup. What should the configuration of the new laptop as i wana do online work. Guide me Of which companies laptop are you using.. My Budget is 45000. I think Dell is better. What you say..

Dell and Acer are good but it must be remembered that all the components of computers are made in China regardless of the badge on the outside. The main difference is in after sales service and I have found Acer the best there. Dell used to be very good but they have slipped of late. Go for an Intel Core2Duo processor which uses less power and so improves battery life. Note this is not the same chip as a dual core Intel Pentium which is just the opposite and uses a lot of power.

thanks for guide frnd.. what is the minor point in both can u please explain to me. i am planning to buy 4 gb ram + 320 hard disk. with c2due 2.16 ghz they cost it as 43000 from dell. one of my frnd have dell's lappy 5920 but its battey backup is not so good.

The Acer 5920 is a much lower spec than what you have quoted so apart from the fact they are both Core2Duo machines it is not a fair comparison. Battery life is very hard to compare as it depends on what you are doing. Go into a PC store and try them out.

my friends got acer.. but they say the performance is not so good compared to other brands.. more the money more the quality.. as simple as that...

hey this is balaaji.. i just ended up buying a laptop.. DELL inspiron 1525.. as for as i heard dell inspiron with 6 cell battery gives around 3 hrs with optimum performance and with 9 cell it gives 6-7 hrs... DELL is good as for as i know.. and wit the budget u say inspiron 1525 is ideal i guess.. mine cost me 42500.. 3gb ram, 250gb HD 2.16ghz processor.
