Do you like your hair?

If you didn't dye, perm, or chemically treat your hair in some form, would you like it the way it is? I don't think many people do like their own hair, especially not as is. My hair is naturally a very dark brown. It's thick and straight. When I was younger and had the time and money I used to dye it a very light shade of brown and I'd perm it as well. It seemed to be the only way I could do anything with it. Without the perm, my hair won't hold a style to save my life. I can't curl it with a curling iron, it won't hold the curl. It doesn't part very well so there are a lot of styles I just can't do with it. My daughter's hair is worse. Although it's thinner than mine and does have a bit of a natural curl, she has a natural part that doesn't want to move. I can't even put her hair in a pony tail because her part will not move! What is your hair like if it's not chemically treated? Do you like it?

I hate my hair! I am born naturally with curls and waves and I just tried to go to the salon for straightening, after few months it will be back to my original curls, I hope I can have my straight hair permanently.

I, on the other hand, want curls. I just have soft waves, that's all. I don't want straight hair..

I would feel on top of the world if my hair was always straight and so easy to manage. Lucky you.....

I hate my hair! I have very fine, thin hair in a special mousy brown color - can't find that in a bottle! I have a little wave to it but nothing you could work with! I have been trying to grow it out since I was 12! It is still shoulder length. I highlight the color and curl it every day! I don't perm it anymore because a perm will last about 2 years in my hair, but not in a good way!

Wow, that's too bad! I wish a perm would last that long in my hair, but in a good way.

My hair is a medium brown, fairly thick, and straight. I used to get a perm when I was younger and I have dyed it a few times before, but not really anything drastic.(except that one time my friend dyed my hair burgundy) My hair does not hold a curl with a curling iron either. It will be back to normal in no time at all. I normally just pull mine back in a ponytail to get it out of my face since I am always in the kitchen making toffee and no one wants hair in their toffee.

That is how I am when I actually do leave it down. I cannot stand it being on my face, over my ears, or even on my neck. It normally does not stay down for more than an hour.

I know my hair usually looks nice when it's down, hubby says he likes it better down. But it drives me crazy. Whenever it is down I can't help myself but to keep tucking it behind my ears. The only time I could leave it down was when it was really short, like chin length. Even then there were some days I would still try to get as much of it as I could into a hair tie.

That's what I do too, always leave it pulled back. Not for cooking purposes, but because I can't stand to have it in my face. I'll leave it down if I'm going out for a special occasion, or if I'm just in the mood to look nice, but it usually bothers me so much that before long I'll end up pulling it back.

I think for the first time in ages I am actually really happy with the colour of my hair. I just need to find the right style to go with it and I will be happy! I am thinking of having a shorter cut on it now as long is ok but I never have the time to spend on it. I am thinking of getting my daughters cut a lot shorter too, she has a gorgeous face that I am thinking may suit a shorter cut to it, so next week Im off to the hair dressers to have a couple of inches taken off our hair and see how I go!!

Over the summer I got my daughter's hair cut short for the first time. It was just about chin length. It looked great on her. It's grown out a bit, and is past her shoulders now. I should cut it again. I also need to get my hair cut. The ends are fraying quite a bit. The last time I got a trim the idiot didn't cut off all the damaged ends, so it never looked right since then. If it were longer I'd do it myself, but it's too short to think about doing that.

My hair was so beautiful when I was young and it was a dark brown and straight. I wore it almost waist length and the length became shorter after I had each child. LOL I now wear it quite short and it is an ash brown with blond highlights. If I didn't have it coloured then I expexct that it would be ninety percent white. My mother's hair was white at 25 and I started going gray in my twenties too. One of my sons' started having gray hairs at 22 so it is genetic.

I also started going gray very young. I'm not even 30 yet, so it's not a huge problem at the moment, but I do notice a few gray hairs in there every so often. Right now my hair is dyed a lighter shade, so I'm not noticing the grays as much. I'll have to color it again soon because the roots are growing out like crazy.

I actually haven't colored my hair since the summer, so the roots are definitly long. But it's not only expensive, it's also time consuming. I'll do it again someday when I'm in the mood, but I'm just not right now.

I colour every 4 weeks - my hair grows so fast still. It is an expensive pain.

Although I have both coloured and permed my hair in the past, I do nothing artificial to it at all now. I justs got fed up always having roots to touch up, so decided that being natural wasn't too bad. I think I like it the way it is, although I occassionally have the urge to put pink or red streaks in it!

Before my hair had been treated with straightening and perming solution it was healthy and shiny and it doesn't have frizz. but i notice that after all the chemicals that it had been through my hair became thin and i experience a lot of falling hairs. If i can only bring back the i shouldn't have had it treated in some way for I couldn't bring back the natural form of my hair. for now i had it relaxed last December and it is doing well but i don' know until when. . Happy Mylotting!!!

Hey kats~I hate my hair! It is very curly, frizzy and dark brown! I now color it because it has lots of grey. It comes out a bit darker than my natural shade of brown, almost black sometimes. I used to straighten it years ago because I hated the curls and frizz! But, now since I dye it and it is already too dry and thin I can't possibly straighten it too! I have used a straightening iron, but it is too thin and I am afraid to keep using it. I had it cut in layers and I decided to just let it grown in and now I don't know what to do with it. If it is short it curls and frizzs too much. I just can't deal with it! I would give anything for hair like yours! I have always wanted long straight thick hair!

Whenever I had a perm, mine would frizz if I didn't use gel and mousse on it. As soon as I was out of the shower I'd gel and mousse the whole thing, then style as usual. That helped. It made it look curly instead of frizzy. Do you do that? It might help.

I used to have long black straight hair when i was a kid but when i had to cut it really short, my hair started to curl up.. then my aunt advised me to go to the salon to have rebond.. of course, i followed her advice and tried the hair treatment.. it worked but i need to undergo the treatment every year, too expensive!

My hair was medium blond and naturally highlighted in the summer. Now it is darkening to a dark blond which I "not-so-naturally" highlight now. My hair is finely textured and thin in the front (always has been). While I liked my hair coloring when I was younger, I really wish it hadn't darkened thus I chemically treat it. I really don't like the texture of my hair. I call it fly-away! It has no oomph! I can only use certain shampoos or it will just hang there. It tangles easily, especially when wet. I am thrilled however that the days of perms are over. My hair would only hold a perm for about 1 month. It was very costly. Now straight hair is in and I couldn't be happier. While I always wish it looked better, I no longer have to slave over it the way I used to. When I get to heaven, I will have thick, luxurious, flowing, curly hair. It will be beautifully highlighted and trouble free!

Let's all hope our hair is that beautiful when we get to heaven. I think most people would love my hair. It is nice and thick, and perfectly straight. With the right cut it would be beautiful hair. My problem of course is it just doesn't fit my face. I've never found a style that worked right for my face, other than with a perm.

my hair is super thick and over curly, or kinky. I am growing my perm out now, its been 6 months since I had one, I do like my hair, although I can't do much with it own my own, but I let my beautician braid or twist it. I have an appointment in 3 hours!

hello katsmeow..my hair is wavy and yeah sometimes i hate it..i had it stretch and everything for the past few years and this year i decided to let it go..meaning no chemicals no treatments excluding hot oil of course..its below shoulder level and wavy to the extent that you will assume that i had it permed ..my daughter and hubby like it this way..so i had to succumbed to their whims not to alter it again..

because of pregnancy i haven't been able to dye my hair so the natural color has come through and instead of cutting it i have let it grow out and i do like my hair although i love changing it too. i like to experiment with different colors and such and see how they look on me. I only perm my hair every now and again if its long enough

I have been wearing the short hair for 10 years. I have never dyed or had a perm. Because I do not hope my hair becomes bad.But I often let the hairdresser pay attention to different hairdoes for me too.It is more or less have remedied the regret that can 't dye or perm.

my hair is black and staight, I like it. Although I almost haven't change my hair for 4 years( the fringe was changed ), I am satisfied with it and think it is the best style fit for me and it is convienient for me every morning.
