well i'm taking up BS Information Technology... so for me i like IT than CS..
The difference of IT to CS is that
IT focuses in the business field where you will communicate with others related to technology while in CS your just focus on the computer where it means ur a programmer...

I'm a high school student and I faced similar problem as you did.
Well, I made my choice now.
I'm choosing CS instead of IT, due to the reason just opposite to the one mentioned above:
I like to be a programmer more than touching those things related to business.

I graduated with a bachelor of science degree in I.T.
As for which is better, You need to play your strengths.
In a broader sense, I.T. is similr to Civil Engineering in the sense that you get a little bit of everything, not particularly adept at something. Unlike when you choose more specific fields like mechancal, electrical, etc.
in I.T., you get a bit of computer science which is programming. A bit of coputer engineering which deals with hardware. Information systems which deals with management and use of technology.
Play your strengths.
If you're good in math, go with CS, if with tinkering - CoE, if manageent, IS. If you want to be diverse, go for IT
