This place, our Earth, is gradually becoming a smaller place to live in.Every other day day we come upon people speaking various languages. That makes it imperative for us to know more than our mother tongue. We must be able to communicate with others so that we can express ourselves. So how many languages can you speak ?

learning foreign languages - it is very useful to learn foreign languages. the more you know, the better
Hello Anhi. I can speak only two languages, one of which is mother tongue, Chinese, and the other of which is English. I can speak English very fluently. There is no problem for me to communicate with foreigners who speak English. I think that English is good enough for me as I think that most of the foreigners speak English when they travel from one place to another.

I can speak 2 languages (Hindi & English) like most of the Indians. But I want to learn other languages a s well. I am thinking of going for French or Japanese. It may help me with my career as well. I can understand Marathi a bit, but cant speak. So this makes my language toll to 2.5

I can speak english and filipino which is based on tagalog. I can speak and understand mandarin but not so fluent. I can understand nihonggo and spanish but i cant speak the languages. I learn Mandarin from school and i would get the conversational mandarin subject soon. Im kinda fascinated in studying french, i think its very interesting.

well.. as a matter of fact, i can only speak 2 languages fluently. And that would be english and chinese. I've been thought and well, most of us here are effectively bilingual in my country. In any case, i do understand some dialects like hokkien, teochew or cantonese. But they are really minimal and i can't speak but i can understand. Funny right. But yeap, i tend to listen and i do know when my aunts or uncles are talking bad about someone else in the family. Thinking that i don't understand, they tend to not be guarded...
