hello everybody here at Mylot...
well since last October, i have been working a part-time job for my brother-in-law that owns his own plumbing business inputting data on his computer.
well after the holidays hit, his business unfortunately slows down and i am laid off work. it sucks.
so now, i am back looking for another part-time job. i would love to find myself a part-time job working from home, like for example, a life chat operator or something like that for somebody's website.
so tell me, have you ever lost your part-time job? or been laid off from it? also, if you were me, where would be the best places for me to start looking for another part-time job at?

I'm glad to see you here with us. I would look in the local newspaper for job listings. The economy in our area is really bad though and no one is hiring. I'm glad to earn from home. I have been unemployed before also and worked from home online.

Hi TnWoman,
Many years ago I was laid off from my work because of ill health and I thought my life was coming to an end but how wrong can I be? I met so many people as I was able to go out and bout meeting friends, I was lucky because my hubby is working and now I am on disablity benefits so it not too bad for me but it is harder for you I know, I hope you will find something very soon, maybe something making something home? Am sorry to hear you aren't working right now. It's hard when you are use to a paycheck and suddenly it's no longer available. Wish I knew what to tell you about a part time job from home. I've looked into many jobs on the computer and they all want money upfront before you can begin to work. I did join a site and am going to eventually sell my crafts online. There were no fees to join and hopefully I can figure it out..lol Here is the link if you want to sell anything you might have at home you want to get rid of or something you have made.

I don't blame you for looking for something part time. It gets old being home all the time. I still work part time at the golf course but took the winter off because of my old, aching back. Can't stand for long periods of time without being miserable. Our daughter just called and her live-in boyfriend was laid off yesterday. Been awful all over.

Have you tried getting employment doing answering service work done on the phone that can be done at home and you're free to do what yoiu want all you need to do is have a phone in your home to take calls. Just an idea.

thanks for your idea for part-time work at home. i used to work for a company like that at home years ago, calling people up to see if they had any donations that they would like to leave on their porch for pick-up. i could look around to see if i could find something like that again.

What type of work do you do? I've been in the same job for many years, so I couldnt give you any advice about being laid off? Is this a regular thing? Have you worked for him before and got laid off after the holidays? If so, you may want to get a permenant part-time job where you wont have to worry every year. Good luck with the job hunting.

I am in China,my company's business slows down very quickly these months,so my boss decided to cut off seeral employees.I am also looking for some part time jobs,but seems very hard to make money...life became harder..

I am so sorry about your troubles, it is a hard time for everyone that I know and a lot more according to the news reports.. I would love to find a way to make extra money also but I am not sure how to do it.. I would love to find online work and be able to work from hime.. I will read the responses and maybe both of us can find the answer that we need..
