My husband got me a Fiskars ScrapBoss for Christmas. It's an embossing system where you have stencils and stylus. My very un-carfty mom did a very simple Christmas card one year with an embossed Christmas tree, so I figure it can't be too hard. In fact, I think I ended up with the brass stencil somewhere around here.
I have only embossed with rubber stamping with embossing powder and a heat gun. This system actually pushes the paper out for a 3D effect.
Have you ever embossed using a stencil and stylus before? Will you share some photos if you have them? I would love to see how it used with scrapbook layouts and cards.

i emboss on tinfoil. i buy the big baking sheets from the grocery store and use the metal embossing set that i bought at a scrapbooking store that was going out of business. it has letters and numbers.
so what i do is cut out a little square of tinfoil with my very old pinking shears and put someones name or a random word on it and them affix it to my card.

That sounds like fun! That also sounds like another present my husband bought me for Christmas one year, except it's a metal stamping kit. Another tool that doesn't get used by me very often. At least he buys me things I don't already have for scrapbooking. Hopefully I'll sure the scrapboss more than the metal stamping.
