Getting a little annoyed....

Okay, I enjoy a healthy debate as much as the next person. I like to hear other's points of views and I like expressing mine. Here lately I have noticed a trend in gender slanted posts. I get the fact that we are here to learn from different people and cultures, but I feel like I am constantly saying "we are all people, reagardless of being men or women". You would think that we haven't progressed past the Rennaissance with some of the questions I have seen posted here.
In the spirit of healthy debate I retract my claws and just give my response with as little venom as I can. But my restraint is being tested so often the next poster might get it with both barrrels.
Am I the only one tired of seeing posts about whether or not women can drink, wear makeup, wear pants, go to clubs, smoke, should do all the cooking, be the only one taking care of the kids.....etc.??

It is healthy to give a taste of those claws from time to time. I know I rarely hold back the venom if it is well deserved. I suppose I might consider the probable age of the poster at times, but then I realize that it is time for people in general to wake up and smell the coffee. The world is no longer centered on what is a man's job and what is a woman's job, or what is proper for a woman to do or not do. I agree, those types of posts make me nuts, but if you see one, than the poster deserves a huge dose of WTF coffee.
MyLot would be a much more interesting place to be if those "should women do this?" posts were subjected to a few women who think we should!

Where I stand, I see women use excuses to get out of things. But then I also see them throw it up in their defense if they feel they're being talked down to. These days, both men and women work and there are more and more fathers wanting to stay at home and work from home to be with their kids. It's a rising fad. With the economy these days, very few can afford to send just the male off to work like it was way back when. I even get told constantly that men are paid better than women or have a better chance at a certain job than women. I think that's ridiculous. Men don't rule the world and neither do women.
Sorry this wasn't thought out very well, not my best writing.

Yes I see the point you are making and I think maybe I am guilty of some of those .However it was never done with any sexism in mind but sometimes I am a little annoyed at the way some women conduct themselves .I guess you are right, that type of sing and dance is getting old and I will try to curtail my activities in that area.I guess the only thing I can put up in my defence is that I am equally annoyed by the behavior of some men as well an dspeak out agianst them as well

I suppose I am being a little sensitive. I have also seen posts about the why's and wherefores of men's behavior. I guess my rant is as much a product of the flack I get in the real world for being my own woman as it is from the questions that get asked here. I would never say to stop asking the questions if you have them since this is one of the best places I know to get a good cross-section of thoughts and opinions.
Your response has certainly taken the edge off of my initial annoyance. Thanks!

A lot of those posts I tend to ignore. Best for the blood pressure. Sometimes I look to see where the person is from. There are cultural differences to take into account too. Most often I just ignore them. It is hard to change a persons perspective. I have better things to do.
