Yes, it is true.
Many Americans believe 0bama is a deceiver, cheat, and liar. Still, you won't see many, if any stories to that effect in the USA. Here's such a story. Not written or printed by Americans. This story is Russian in orgin and appears in Pravada.
http://newsfromrussia.com/world/americas/08-01-2009/106908-obama-0
I say that if Pravada can do such an in depth analysis, surely main line American sources could do the same.
What do you say?

Hi Red,
I don't trust Obama, but it is not for the reasons in the Pravda article. For one thing you can find his birth certificate online and he was born in Hawaii. It is documented. His education however, is not and he will not release that info along with alot of other stuff. His wife is scary.
The reasons I have for not trusting him however, stem from his recent news conferences where he would not tell what he plans to do about certain "fixes" in the economy and the government. He did say that he had made up his mind, but that he would not make any comments until he was in office. He also plans to make up some of the trillion$ debit by making cuts in medicare. Now doesn't that make a lot of sense. Why doesn't he just make it mandatory to knock off folks at say 75 and save money that way. Maybe he is too "young" for the job!

The Pravda article is a hoot. It makes an attempt at taking a critical look at 0bama. What mainline USA publications are doing that?
As to 0bama's plans for the economy, I know something about economics. Obama's plans such as he has mentioned are ruinous. Look out hyper-inflation, joblessness, and possibly even worse.
Good to hear from you. Thanks for visiting.

That's what made the story stand out for me. Foreigners mostly seem to love him more than we do. Yet, here was a negative article. Interesting to say the least.

Hello Red,
What some seem to be missing is the significance of an international news source reporting that Barack Obama has a lack of credility.
As well, the irony of this Pravda story being written about the "Hope" for returning the USA to a position of respect around the world. Ya' know the propoganda, right? Bush was such a (this or that) that the rest of the world hated us, and the only Hope for the USA was to elect the great uniter. Well, I guess that those who bought that line of hoopla, and thus voted accordingly, will now have to recognize that the rest of the world will hate us whether Bush or Obama is at the helm -- makes no difference!
I will remind all that Russia is in bed with Venezuela, North Korea, Iran and now China. What does this little story, from Russia's largest news source, tell us about the "Hope" being able to negotiate with the bad guys, given his zero credibility rating??? Hmmmmm?

Perhaps, 0bama is attacked by Pravda because they realize already 0bama is just another Bush when it comes down to the important policies. Wait until our media catches on to that. Then those negative 0bama stories will be written aplenty.

I believe that Europe still has high hopes for Obama, and thinks that he will get the economy back on track, thus helping the whole Western World. I agree that Pravda is going to have a slanted view and in fact had errors in it's story.

Ahhhh! But, he is not in charge of Russia, is he. So, no matter waht they say and write about him; it does not affect them.
However, he has just been elected President of the US and (like it or not) we are stuck with him for the next 4 years (barring assassination or impeachment). Starting out criticising him before he even has a chance to be sworn in would not help anything. Right now, the American people NEED to believe he can do at least some of the things he campaigned for and that there is at least a CHANCE that things will improve.
Right now, the media is giving him a chance to prove himself, one way or the other. If he makes mistakes, they WILL rip him apart; just like they have other presidents in the past.

I too hope 0bama suceeds as President. I just have not heard him say much I find encouraging. His plans to create jobs such as I have heard, are less than worthless. They will harm the country.

True, I really doubt anyone could top Bush's "Bushisms" that he has become infamous for and Obama is an excellent speaker whether you agree with him or not. We will have to wait and see what his Presidency brings forth to plague him with.

I agree with you speakeasy. Give the guy a chance. The expectations and hopes are so high he's bound to disappoint plenty of people and the media will start to criticize soon enough, although his eloquent and thoughtful speaking style will lend him to fewer personal gaffs and continued respect among journalists, I think.

Yes, they could do the same and should have.
They preferred not to.... in fact the press did everything possible to ensure that the 0bamunist was protected and elected.
Now we get to live through the results of their crimes and lies.
Welcome to the USSA.

Some of what Pravda printed will probably appear in a year or two in the USA. As time passes I predict 0bama will have very low approval ratings. People forget Bush once had a 92% approval rating.

The liberal media here will never ever print any truth about him. I applaud the Russians for printing the truth. I believe, if this president-elect was a conservative, they would be printing any and every thing they could get their hands on! They would not show the same acceptance for a conservative as they have for Obama all these months/years.

Hello Red,
Permit me to note a tiny correction. It is Pravda, not Pravada. Apart from that I checked the article and I think the quality of the research is no better than the National Enquirer. Did you see the picture and caption next to the article in question? It dealt with a dog that supposedly gave birth to a humanoid creature.
As far as the status of Michelle Obama as a practising attorney is concerned it is not unusual to give up that status if you are working for a company since the Errors and Ommissions Insurance is a horrendous cost for practising lawyers. At least here it is. So if she was working for an organization she would have done all the legal research that her job required but if someone had to be represented in court an outside attorney would be hired.
As far as Barrack himself is concerned I don't know what to make of the missing birth certificate. Honestly I don't know what to say.

Thank you for the correct spelling of Pravda. Yes, it does seem like a Russian version of WEEKLY WORLD NEWS.

Well, the name Mark S. McGrew does not exactly have a Russian ring to it. The website newsfromrussia.com, appears to have an International designation rather than being a '.co.ru', as one might expect.
Hmmm. I thought that you detested Communism, RYBDog, yet here you are quoting a really appalling piece of anti-American hate writing which, you claim, is written and published by a Communist organisation.
Why don't you stop clutching at any straw that seems to be blowing your way and start supporting your country and its soon-to-be President?

The website is called 'Pravda', by the way. That is Russian for 'News'. Since you seem to be so intent on getting to the 'real' story behind the News it would behove you to, at least, get simple facts like the spelling of your source correct.

"...if Pravada can do such an in depth analysis ..."
You just have to be joking! That piece of writing is about as 'in depth' and of long-lasting literary merit as a puddle from a summer shower.

owlwings,
Thank you for your comments. The points you make are very good except that you misunderstand my point for posting this link. Nor do I endorse the article.
In a free country with a free press such as exists in the USA with over 290 million people, there are going to be many who disagree with 0bama. In fact, almost 1/2 of those who voted did not agree with 0bama. It should not be necessary to have to go to admittedly inferior foreign press to read the opinion of those who disagree with 0bama.
I always read both sides of an issue. Finding the other side in regards to 0bama is difficult to do.
Thank you, too for the correct spelling of Pravda.

I don't think that many Americans believe that Obama is a deceiver. If that was the case he would never be the 1st president of the states. Time will prove that American citizens voted for the best.

I hope you guys are right and I am wrong, but I simply can not ignore my life's experience that indicates 0bama is hugely deceptive.

I agree. I certainly don't think he's a deceiver, at least not more so than his predecessors. Especially the most recent. He seems so far to be surrounding himself with quite a diverse group of advisors from across the political spectrum, including folks who will specifically disagree with him so he will be less likely even to deceive himself.

"In depth analysis" you write? Pravda.ru, according to the "About Pravda.Ru" link on its home page, is a publication of the Communist Party, which "takes a pro-Russian approach to forming its policy." The article you point to is deeply lacking in journalistic integrity and substance in my opinion, a rant against Obama that paints him as the equivalent of an agent of Satan because his parents' divorce certificate claims he was born in Kenya. Then the article ends with the anti-American slam that Obama's very existence is the result of a 40-year plot of organized corruption perpetrated by BOTH the Democratic and Republican parties. McGrew is not Russian that I could find. It's more likely Russia is the only country that would publish his article, and it's probably not coincidence that it fits Russia's anti-West political power agenda.

Good job of analysis as to the article. You are mostly correct. I think we can add that Pravda also made some of the things up in that article. Even still it is an 'in depth analysis', albeit flawed. I have yet to find a similar article here in the U.S.A. that does an analysis of 0bama's shortcoming. I suppose that is coming. It would have been nice to see such before the election.
