i have a friend who wants to join, he's in denial that he acts gay. he is though and has been out for years but he doens't think he acts gay and people can't tell. i knew the second i met it. i'm worried what will happen to him if he joins but not sure how the military acts about that now.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure that they don't accept homosexuals and if they did and someone found out that person probably would get gay bashed by a bunch of soldiers. I have a friend who is joining the military and I know that she has to act a certain way and basically change who she is just so she can be ordered around by some guys that she doesn't even know. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't understand why people want to join the military.

thanks,i don't get it. they want people to protect the country but you have to be a certain way to be able to help. what's going to happen when they run out of straight soldiers and they need the other people who wanted to join but couldn't because of their sexuality. grrr anoys me

Well i remember when Pres. Clinton was in office he had that Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy i think its still in effect unless Mr. Bush done away with it.When i was in the service years ago there were a lot of gays in my unit and nobody said or did anything about it,so that exculde gays from the military is just for show eye candy for the general public...
