I definitely don't think they are a waste...risky, perhaps, depending on the people involved and the situation, but not a waste!
Teenage relationships are like a training ground for having mature relationships later. You learn a lot about yourself and what you're looking for in a partner by dating as a teen. You can even start the process of getting over some of the more unrealistic fairy tale expectations that many young girls are prone to.
Finding the right person is partly trial and error; it's sort of like a scientific experiment, and almost no one gets it right on the first try. Mix two teens together romantically, and the result might be an explosion, but at least both have learned something about themselves and their expectations.
As for me, I met my husband when we were teenagers. We fell in love and dated as teenagers. Then we got married and now have two beautiful children. Definitely not a waste.

im a teenage boy and im currently in a relationship that i've been in for quite awhile now and (dont get me wrong) there's been some bumps in the road and some minor problems here and there, but i have no regrets of being in a teenage relationship and in fact, i think teenage relationships are an important part of a teenagers life because people learn from bad experiences as well as with good experiences. having experience with a partner can be very helpful as an adult in a serious relationship.
