I realize that i am posting this in mother instead of pregnancy mainly because i would like to get some advice from some of you mothers who possibly went through this same thing.
This past Tuesday i went in to be induced at 39 weeks of pregnancy due to high blood pressure. They tried pitocin and two prostaglandans none of it worked and after a two day stay in the hospital my cervix was only dialated to 2 so i told the doctor i wanted to go home. Not to mention that i have a very high cervix everything that i have heard so far is indicating to me a c-section and im scared to think that this could happen to me. This is my first pregnancy and i was really hoping that i would be able to give birth vaginally but im not sure how long the doctor will wait for my cervix. Has anyone gone through this as well and what happened with you.
I have also been trying things at home to induce labor naturally all to no avail.
I need help

I did not go through the trouble inducing, but I did have a c-section. I was a little scared, but I trusted my doctor and I knew that she wouldn't do it if she didn't feel it was the best option for me and my baby. I did have a good idea before I went into labor that c-section was likely, so I had time to mentally prepare.
A lot of people- incidentally mostly people who had never had a c-section- told me how awful it was and that I should avoid it at all costs. They actually scared me. But the reality was that it wasn't that bad. It was uncomfortable, and the recovery is longer, but overall it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. There are some benefits, like less bleeding afterward, and no worries about episiotomy, and the pain is in a less sensitive area.
My advice is to trust your body and your doctor and just be glad that the option exists for those who have trouble with natural delivery. There's nothing wrong with having a c-section if that's what it takes to keep you and your baby healthy.
Congratulations, and I hope everything works out.

yeah we ended up with a c-section and like you i was told every scary story in the book but it really wasn't as bad as i thought it would be i think the worst part was having to wait an hour in recovery before i could actually hold my baby

I have had 2 scheduled c-sections. My first baby was breech and in my state you are not allowed to try for VBACs so the second had to be c-sec...which was good b/c he was breech also.
I don't have any advice for your specific problem but if you have any questions about a c-section please feel free to ask me.

I was terrified when the doc told me I had to have a c-section because my son never could decide which way he wanted to turn (he was breech most of the time) so she said she didn't want to chance me having to go through labor and then have a c-section on top of that. I am glad that she decided that. I was scared and just like you, I wanted to do the natural thing especially since it was my first and possibly my only. But it really wasn't that bad. It's quick and over with and you dont have any birthing pains! :) But, the recovery isn't a picnic in the park but it's managable. If you are having this much trouble just trying to go into labor, I wouldn't risk it. You don't want to have an emergency c-section after being in labor - that causes undue stress on both you and the baby. Just talk with your doctor. I would advise going with a planned c-section over labor any day :) just my two cents though. Good luck and congrats :)

My BFF went through the same situation and after smoking a blunt of herbal healing...she went into labor. She says she is grateful for the herbs that helped her when nothing else could.

hi i have two kids the first was delivered naturally with no complications, so we were considering have a home birth, although something still niggled away at me so we decided in the end just to book into the hospital which now i am so glad that i did as my youngest wouldn't have made it into this world without the help of the medical staff, when it came round to my second my due came and went and eventually i had to go in for an induction hours past, my blood pressure fell as well as my sons heartrate, so next thing i know i am whipped round to theatre put to sleep and missed everything, so what i would say to you i know that c section isn't your preferred method of delivery but if you get a beautiful bouncing baby at the end then the way they come into this world doesn't matter, and just think if you have a voluntary section then at least you can be awake and see your little one from the start, hope everything goes alright for you and congratulations for when your little one makes their appearance, all the best lee
