Do you think that information actually matters to the manufacturer and they will use it to fix glitches or will they just store it for statistics?

I read somewhere that sending error reports actually slows your computer down. It's pretty much useless because most issues are never solved. I think the main reason for the error report is so that the manufacturers can patch glitches on their programs. If you get a hardware error... then it does pretty much nothing. Microsoft isn't going to send a professional over to your house to assist you.

Well Yes. This error reporting service is a pretty good phenomena introduced by MicroSoft. I think they use this error statistics to make the product more robust and reliable. This way, they are using end users to do the testing job for them!!

I only use Windows at work and while Macs have those too, they seem to freeze less often
