How deep a diver can go into water?

Are you a diver? what problems you anticipate while diving, particularly when you are coming back.

I have been down around 40 feet. I went diving in St. Thomas in the Caribbean, I like snorkeling but prefer Scuba by far. I used to be certified but not any more.
