Do you think that educated people make a better society?

I feel if the people are educated well then they know all the laws of the land the different things needed in day to day life the formalities needed when doing any goverment formalities or even how to interact with each other and they pass less judgement on others, if the people are given posts in certain departments without much qualifications, they don't know the rules they have been given posts by political influence then they make life harder for the other person, what are your views?

I think you give education too much credit :P Scholars and Educated people aren't always all that great, What would truly make the world a bit better is a better teaching of morals, That and taking fluoride out of the water :P *laughs*

I am not isolating moral values out of education, moral values are very important to be a good human being, neither am I referring to scholars, educated means having the necessary qualifications for the required posts otherwise they do not know the job just they get the posts by paying bribes do not do justice to the post and it is unfair to the community, Hope you got my point.

Education doesn't Necessarily make a person smart. They also need to have common sense. A person may be educated and know all the rules and protocol for an office or post but that doesn't make him the best person for the job. In government the holder of a post or office also needs to be able to think out side the box. Your right that if a person is given a post or office by political influence they can make life difficult not only for co workers but for the country. You are underestimating the average man. The job can be learned but common sense can't.

Educated by whose standards? Everyone is educated in their own way. And some of the most educated people known in history have usually ended up opposing the laws and politics -- and wanting a revolution.

I think educated people can make a better society but they are not doing so ,Both educated people and uneducated people does not care about the society,they always care for their own family. They both live their live there own way of life . No one take care about the society .So it doesn't matter whether the person is educated or uneducated ,what we need the citizen with healthy approach towards other people can only make a better society.
