Backwards Bedtime

I have an 8 year old daughter and her bedtime is 9pm but she will lay in the bed and complain until she falls asleep and that normally be about 11pm. I do not have a problem getting her up in the mornings for school. Its is just she is so backwards, she do not go to sleep early during the school nights but on Friday nights when she do not have to get up early the next morning she be sleep before 8pm sometimes, have you ever had this experience with your child?
