Hello there! My birthstone is Sapphire also because I was born early of September. My godmother gave me a ring with Sapphire stone and she said that it is for goodluck. I wonder how people came up with those birthstones.

Yes, I am aware of that. But I was wondering how they identified that a certain stone is for a certain month.

Mine is also the sapphire. My birthday is at the end of September. My brother and sister (they're twins) have perdot (sp??) as theirs. They were born at the end of August and neither of them like it. It's a funky green color. lol

My birthday is May 17th so mine is emerald and my husbands is July 18th so his is ruby. If I buy any jewellry with coloured stones I try to get either emerald or ruby.

my birthstone is Topaz, and i was never a big fan of it which really sucks. i dont like the shade of yellow that it is.
