Many people on this website do not speak English as their first language. I think it is great that they are posting in another language, how's your written Swedish? Would you have perfect grammar in another language?
It's pretty funny that you made a spelling mistake too :)

Yes it is so funny- ha ha. I noticed that after I pressed the submit button. I know that no one is perfect. It is just hard for me to follow the thoughts. I guess I should never have posted this, cause people are taking it the wrong way. I never intended to upset those who speak a different language.

I think that 2bugerboys has a valid point here. I agree that many Mylot users are writing their posts in a foreign language and I would not criticise these people, particularly since they are doing something that I can not.
However, I do not think that the complaint was addressed to those people. We have many members at Mylot from english speaking countries whose poor grammar and spelling is a result of lazyness. They type in the same inane shorthand that they use in mobile text messaging.

I knew I would get rocks thrown at me for that right after I pressed the submit button.

Maybe you should look at your own post before writing things like this! sence is supposed to be sense.

Yea, I saw that but it was too late after I posted it. I am just saying that sometimes it's hard to understand what people are trying to say.

IF you read the other posts you would understand that I didn't mean people who speak a different language. I am sorry you were offended. I do respect that people try hard to write in English.

not all of us here are good in written english. but at least we're all trying somehow. if ever you encounter a post with grammatical errors, why not try to correct them so they could eventually learn how to write perfect sentences.

Its not fair to expect everyone to write perfect english when english is not their first laungage. I am sure they are doing the best they can. There seems to be a lot of people from other countries up here. Maybe they should write in their own language and then you could not understand them at all. But at least their grammer would be correct. We have the advantage b/c we speak english we should not discriminate against people who do not.

I try to ignore it. What I grow tired of are the stupid questions. "Do you like me?" Well how the heck would I know, I don't know you!
"Do you like potato chips?" And knowing if I do would be knowledge for what purpose?
"Do you have clear skin?" On what part of my body would you like to know about?

Please look at this thread and notice that I didn't mean to offend others in the way that you think.

i understand why people were upset but am i correct in thinking that you really didnt even think about the fact that it might be people writing who didnt know english but thought it was just people who new the english lanquage not being bothered to take the time to write properly
As well all you people praising tolerance should practice what your preaching and have a little because as you can see in her comments this lady obviously did not mean to be offensive to anyone and its not hard to see that this person did not realize she was commenting on people who may not have a great command of the english language

I am sorry to inform you that you have made a mistake by typing 'sence' instead of sense. Tell me if I am correct. It is difficult to go without mistakes if you want to make pennies out of your writing.

not all people on here speak english as a first language. some other languages do not use those words... plus you shouldn't condemn someone for not using proper grammar if you aren't going to use proper spelling... it's s-e-n-S-e, not s-e-n-C-e

yes I understand this. I am also very choosie when it comes to responding but another thing that annoys me that people do not check back on their started discussions and never rate the answers or choose best answers- anyone reading this please make it a point to choose and rate answers do not do so blindly though.

I was raised with the importance of proper grammar. Yes, it does drive me crazy to see improper grammar. But that is what this day and age has become. Stop and listen to the world. Do you realize how many people use the grammar term, double negatives? I think that drives me crazy more than anything else!!!! I am constantly correctly my children AND my partner. Sometimes I get on their nerves too. But they, at least they know they are wrong and what a double negative is! :)
Do remember to leave room for typing errors. Nobody is perfect.

i believe there's definitely be others who understand their languages and since we dont understand them, dont even bother to go and try to :)
