Why do Christians and moslems fought?

I am a peace advocates. I've been wondering for so long why Christians and moslems fought. Who starts the fights and why do they have to attacked each camp. Why can't there be peace? why war? I have none moslem best friends and we are very close with one another. What is the best thing to do? Why attacked Gaza? why friends?

I think it all started when Muslims slaughtered the early Christians in Africa and attacked Byzantium. But the time is ripe to beat swords into ploughshares.

Yes, hope springs eternal.
One positive step that could easily be taken would be for the countries neighbouring Israel to open their borders and offer those people living in Palestine a new home, safe and secure and leave Israel in peace.

Christians do not participate in wars. It is so-called Christians that go to war against Muslims. It is so-called Christians that go to war against other so-called Christians too.
What is a Christian? A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. Did Jesus involve himself in any wars? Did Jesus promote any violence?
When he was being arrested and one of his followers used a sword to defend him, what did Jesus say and do?
Matthew 26:52 (New Century Version) Jesus said to the man, "Put your sword back in its place. All who use swords will be killed with swords.
Luke 22:51 (New Century Version) Jesus said, "Stop! No more of this." Then he touched the servant's ear and healed him.
