who would you rather listen to Tom Petty or Steve Miller?

I know they are two older musicians bt they are two of my favorites..... I always have a hard time answering the wuestion of which one I prefer to listen to because they both have so many good songs that could never get old... what do you think?

I like Tom Petty more than Steve Miller since, for me, I'm more familiar with Tom Petty music because I think it's more approachable than Steve Miller's work.

thanks for your post, Steve Miller has a very distintive sound i can see why some people might find it hard to approach but i personally like it just as much as Tom Petty but they are definitly two of my favorites

since i've been around since they both started i'll have to go back and listen to some old tapes i'll get back to ya but i know it's gonna be miller

good choice for me it's a complete toss up i like them both. i can't even pick a favorite song out of them all cause there are so many to choose from

it's all according where i'm at or what i'm doing at the time but i like the layed back sound miller has on some songs,a little bluesy.

good point Steve Miller is a little bluesy...of the two tho Miller and Petty, what would you say your favorite song is?

Absolutely Tom Petty. I like Steve Miller but if I had to chose only one for the rest of my life I'd have to go with Tom Petty.

I gotta go with Tom Petty hands down. Songs like "Runnin down a dream" "American Girl" and "Free Fallin." I mean come on it's no contest really. Steve Miller's okay but he doesn't have anywhere near the cataloug that Tom Petty does. Just one guy's opinon. :)

thanks for your input. those are all ver good songs by Tom Petty, but what about songs like Jungle Love, Blinded by The Light and Keep On rockin' Me by Steve Miller, perhaps equally good?
