What do you do to keep from falling asleep?

Sometimes we can't always get the amount of rest we would like to have. Sometimes it feels like we literally shut our eyes then opened them and found it to be day in the blink of an eye. Other times we just have to stay awake, period. Well in my case my boyfriend, whom I live with, works overnight and I meet him every morning when he gets off work. We do not currently have a car, so I take the bus. The thing is, I sleep when he does, and I stay awake from 8pm to about 9am. During this time I can go to sleep if I wanted. But, I would much rather sleep when he does so we can at least be awake at the same time since I don't work. I have tried a few ways of not falling asleep. It is easy most of the time to keep busy by say washing dishing, cleaning the apartment a bit, watching tv (for a short amount of time since it bores me sometimes), or just being on myLot. =] I have found that cleaning and participating on myLot are the most efficient ways for me to stay awake. I can type fairly fast so it is not very difficult for me to type a few discussions. It's something I quite enjoy. And as for cleaning, it just simply passes the time and I do not mind doing it in the least. I used to be a real big coffee drinker, but I have cut back on caffeinated beverages to a very minimal level. What do you do to say awake?

Sometimes when I am tired and I am driving, I find myself sleeping at the wheel. This is a dangerous thing and I try singing and when it doesn't help I stop and drink soda. Cheers!!

I think I drink coffee whenever I feel sleepy. It's very hard to keep awake if I don't drink coffee. I know it's not good for our health but there's nothing else I could do. Sometimes watching TV or log in to internet helps, but other times it's just making things worse, I feel asleep easily! Once I tried exercising, but it also didn't help. So yeah, the best thing for me is just COFFEE... Perhaps I should replace it with tea, since tea is said to have caffeine too, but I don't know if it works for me, I haven't tried drinking tea when feeling sleepy.
