In the Philippines, Acoustic and Rock/Alternative Music are all the rage. Alost every band becoming famous are in one of these genres.

Here in our place it depends to where you are located, some parts of my country is soo into western music. But we are promoting to support the local bands here in the Philippines. and our local music scene here is rocking the air waves.

Wow, we have such a broad range of music that is common here in the U.S.
Sometimes cultural differences and social circles play a part in preferences, geographical influences and sometimes age. I really don't know anyone that likes just one kind of music.
Right now I'm listening to Annie Lenox. But I'd feel really deprived if I had to decide just one was best and couldn't have my country, my classical, my celtic, my regge, my jazz, my blues, my rock and roll, my alternative mix, my gospel etc.
They all have their place and mood.

thats kinda a broad question...cuz everyone has different preferences so its not necessarily a country preference...but personally i like r&b and slow jazz...anything with a good singer and good lyrics!
