Hi Fellow Mylotters!
I am sure most of you have watched the documentary about the so called Prediction from the Mayan Calendar that life on earth will end on December 21, 2012. Now since it has created an awareness on most of us. What are thing you will do now? Assuming that the prediction will happen? What are you going to do in preparation with that? I am not saying that it will happen that is why i used the word ASSUMING. Just for the sake that we would know what are in your thoughts about this.

Many people and scholars do believe that the 2012 end of the Mayan Calendar does signify the end of life but there are also just as many that believe as I do that it signifies the end of this life cycle.
We have all heard of history repeting itself and as such many believe that the Mayans believed this also and that the end of 2012 signifies the end of the current era and the beginning of a new one. This can be equated to Astrological Ages such as the Age of Aquarius taking place of the Age of Pisces that we are currently in until 2024.
Maybe the Mayans calculated differently than we have and that can explain why their age end is 2012 where the Astrological end is not until 2024.
If this is not the case and it truely is the end of the world then I will not do anything special as I have a close relationship with my Heavenly Father and he knows that I do my very best with what I have been given as I am the best mee thaat I can be.
I hope that I have answered your question adequately.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

yes you have answered my discussion satisfactorily and i marked you positive for that. no one even know how to determine when would be the end of our times similar to no one knows as to when are we going to die. all of those are based on projections and assumptions. thanks a lot for your sharing!

If the world ends and I go with it for one thing I have the closeness of God soon enough instead of waiting long to reach Him, had the world not ended? Now you might ask me how are you so sure that I will go to where God is and not Where He is not? Well, I have no answer why that must be so!

Hi roselynm,
You have just started a hot discussion.
As far as I am concerned,I just don't believe in that Mayan calendar.
I think it is not worth fearing about the future which no one can predict accurately.
Assuming the doomsday prediction is true,I am not having plans for the remaining years also.
After all man proposes and God disposes.
Have faith in God,and keep doing your duty. That is my policy.

very well said. why we should worry of tomorrow let tomorrow worry about itself.
i guess this is a very hot topic nowadays especially that people are becoming threatened by the so called Doomsday Prophecy. if i am of those who believe might as well pray for guidance and strength so that their fear will be done.
anyway i decided to mark your response a best one. congratulations!

There have been quite a few documentaries that my husband has watched about this, so unfortunately I'm not sure which one you are talking about. One of the theories is that there will be a sudden shift of the earth's magnetic poles. If that happens, I guess I will buy a new compass. :)

I say that I will do nothing extra ordinary because I believe that everyday of my life is a continuos struggle to do things that is pleasing to our God. I will continue to live each day as it comes maintaining my personal relationship with my God so that if the end of the earth comes may it ne tomorrow or 2012, I will be ready to face my Creator.

There has been so many predictions about when the world is going to end.
But we are still here and a lot of these dates have come and gone.
Beside i would not do anything different at least if the world does end on 21 December 2012 i know that we will go out celebrating as that will be my sons 11th birthday.
I believe that no one knows when the world will come to an end and if it does we will not be aware of it.

i do not pay any attention to these types of predictions because the bottom line is that no one knows any such thing. it is a waste of the here and now. i need to live in the moment and deal with what is in front of me now. i have learned that worrying about things does not change the outcome and if it turns out well you wasted all that time and energy worrying for nothing.

To assume to predict the date of the end of the world is to contradict what I've always believed. . .that no man knows the day or the hour the end will come. Beyond that, I believe we are quickly approaching the end of life as we know it. That's not to say life will end, just that it will be forever changed.
I will not do anything differently as I believe that your life must be lived one day at a time to the very best of your ability, because you aren't guaranteed life from one minute to the next. I will continue to live the best life I can, and to improve myself and the things I do for others.

hi! yes i also believe in that, that is why i have said that for the purpose of discussion i have indicated the word ASSUMING because i do not believe in predictions as well as their assumptions that they know when is the exact date of our end. to add on maybe let us continue loving God also through service and love for others. thanks thebeaddoodler!

There have been innumerable doomsday predictions and all of them have come and gone and the world goes on with greater vigour. The day lehman Bank collapsed too was adooms day. The day Wall Street Collapsed too was a dooms day. Dooms day may be for a few or some set of people but for th erest life moves on as normal. some people just don't get affected.

Well, we dont even know that what will happen tomorrow then how can we predict that what will happen after 3 years. I am not going to make any preparation by accepting this rumour. But if it will happen then i am happy that we all will die together, lol. Happy mylotting!
