Will "Watchmen" be worth it?

To start off, I'm really confident about watchmen being the "Dark Knight" of 2009 and being a really good film, apart from making millions in the process. But as we've seen, with Graphic novel-adaptations (and I mean the standalone ones, Not Ironman or Hulk or Batman), we've seen unnecessary gore (maybe as in "Sin City") or a skewed creativity (V for Vendetta) which has worked at times but has gone down as unnecessary amongst many comic-lovers. I just finished reading Watchmen and I loved it, especially the way it ends. And according to reports, the movie makers have "changed" the ending a little! I don't know how 'bad' little means but I'm pretty apprehensive now! So, anyways, what's your take on this upcoming movie, and will it be able to satisfy our creative hunger? Go ahead and comment!

Definitely and you hear that from a person that hates superhero movies!
I like that it's so dark and also,it's from the guy who made 300! I kinda thought Spirit looked similar but people said it was horrible, have you seen it?

No, i haven't seen spirit, but actually, i've liked the trailers very much! Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett look pretty impressive, and I also love the tint reminiscent of 300 and Sin City. It's not that I didn't like Sin City, but after reading the graphic novel, kinda felt maybe the movie could've done without THAT much gore! And I really hope u're right about Watchmen! I don't wanna be disappointed!

ya, i loved dark knight. But the thing is, dark knight wasn't based on one particular book. The only expectation i had from that film was only because of Chris Nolan and Heath Ledger! :)

First I would like to say that the gore in sin city and 300 wasn't unnecessary at all for the obvious reason that all of that gore came directly from Frank Miller's work. As for Watchmen, I am as excited and hopeful as you are. About the ending, what I heard (and revealing as little as possible to anybody who hasn't read it) is that they took out the, uh, most fantastical part about the very end. The, uh, crazy monster, does that give away too much? Apparently they took it out, so, I don't know, it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal provided they come up with a decent idea to replace it with.
