Is Somdev Devvarman the NEXT BIG THING?

Somdev has taken Chennai by storm! After defeating Carlos Moya and Ivo Karlovic, let's keep our fingers crossed for his match against Rainer Schuettler later tonight! So is it possible that this kid is really the NEXT BIG THING in Indian tennis? Post your thoughts!

Somdev Devverman excites me like the young Leander way back in the late 80s and I think this kid can go the distance provided he stays calm and keeps his feet on the ground. BTW, Breaking News is that Somdev is the first Indian to reach the finals of the Chennai Open as Rainer Schuettler has pulled out with wrist injury. So tomorrow Somdev will try to win an ATP tournament at long last by an Indian. The last time was when Leander won at New Port way back I don't even remember when :) What I love about the kid is his energy and youthful exuberance which was also the hallmark of Leander when he burst into the tennis scene of India. Ya, the energy and exuberance does put the spotlight on the newest kid on the block. And according to the overenthusiastic newspaper reports, apparently, this guy is steady during crisis too, like in the final of a college championship or something back in May, 2007. So I guess we can expect pretty good things from this lad!
