We keep sending mails to people and often wonder how we get a spam mail from someone unknown to us. It is simple. When you send a mail to people who know each other, you can put their addresses in teh "To" column.
If you want to send a copy of the mail to someone jsut for info while lettign the person in the "To" Column know about it, use the "Cc" or "Carbon Copy" column ot add those addresses.
If you are sending mail to people who do not know each other, it is better to use "Bcc" or "Blind Carbon Copy" When you do that, the mail is sent ot each individual without disclosing who else has been sent the mail that is, the email address of all adresses do not go to everyone. The email address of all your contacts remain safe and are not disclosed to anyone.

It depends on the nature of the email I am sending. At times, and when the need warrants it, I will use the blind copy feature. When corresponding for business purposes among a group I will use the CC feature so that they all know they have received it and no one feels the need to forward the message to the rest of the group because that only duplicates what I have already sent out.
For all personal emails, I never send a personal email to more than one person at a time so there would never be the need for me to use the CC or BCC features.
