Hello friends,
I just want to know if you follow instruction above before posting discussion here. I myself like to do some shortcut like clicking on new discussion link that is available not minding about the discussion i make is not related under that interest. Actually i do it many times already but i find out that i am not the only one who doesnt follow instruction for i see many discussion not related under that interest is being post. If that is the case, what is the use of interest list section if only few members follows it. Do you think it is better to abolish it for many are not following instruction? Or are you the one who always follow intruction?

yes me too....
after all what are interests for?
its about the things we like, the things about which we think....naturally a new thought is bound to come for our topics of interest.
Thus paving the way for a new discussion... :)
happy mylotting !!

No I don't always start new discussions from my interests. In fact I don't begin too many new discussions. I spend most of my time responding to other's instead. I don't get many responses on the posts that I have started so I sometimes feel it is a waste of time. I have one I started a few days ago that still has zero responses.

Hi tammytwo,
Same here, i dont get many responses to my discussion too. And sometimes i envy to those member who got a hundred responses in a day in there discussion. How i wish i could do it too. Too bad for it doesnt happen to me, it takes two our more days to have plenty of responses to my discussion, maybe because my discussion is not apealling after all. Thanks for the repsond.

As it is I start very few discussions myself, and when I do they are all original ones, from my own thoughts. However I respond to a lot of discussions from my different interests.

I always choose the interest category that I feel will be the most relevant for my discussion and always from my own lists, yes. They definitely should not be aboloshing it because people add interests for a reason and if you want to reach out to specific people in that interest, then this is the most direct and effect way to do it! I see many instances of discussions in every type of interest category imagineable and on many occasions, the 2 have , absolutely nothing to do with each other! But I have no issues with this to be honest as I do not search for discussions to respond to by interest and go by title and/or the first few lines mainly.

I do that, more by coming up with a discussion topic and then going into that interest and starting it there. ...LOL
but then I have to open more interests, because of things that happen to me during the day gives me the ideas to make the discussion....LOL

I usually follow the instructions because that usually provides more responses as people see it's in their interests and rush in lol
Although, the idea of being a rogue and "uncategorizeable" is quite seductive

I follow the instructions. The reason behind it is If I post some discussion which is not related to the interest, then some people might not know anything about it, which leads to the less responses obviously and irritate to some people, who know it is out of our interest.
So I feel that every one should follow the instructions.!!!

I am the who follow the instruction. Because starting some discussion in another interest is like "giving an engineer a patient". So many people in that interest may not know anything about the discussion I have started. With this reason we will get less number of responses. So, its better one should always start a discussion related to that interest. Happy mylotting

It is usually my way of creating a discussion. I think first of a discussion then look for the category where it belongs and if it's in my interests. Like Anaksunamun said, it's the way where we can get more responses. When i have a discussion where it is in a question form, i do post it under the "Question and Answers" category. Of course the question might be broad and i can post it too under the type of topic discussed.

Ho Margarit, I follow more or less the same pattern, because when an idea comes into your head it has to be put down fast and i start the discussion and then it automatically gets slotted anyway. I guess it is not as if one is breaking rules by doing this.I am sure many members are doing the same- starting a discussion that is of interest to them and not going strictly by the book..

When I was new here I'll always start the new discussions and I love to response from their comments. But after a few months I answer only to their discussions. Because I seldom do the responses and it is easier to answer than to make your own. I do need a lot of ideas before I open the new one while if I'm going to answer the ideas are existing already. The only thing that I need is to elaborate and make other suggestions to make it a discussions. But If I have enough time I'll make a new one.

Hi,
I normally stick on to the heading of my discussions from the selected interests. If my discussions do not relate to any , i generalize it, but in no way i group them under a different topic. Interests, they are actually appreciated because ,it enables to manage our discussions and while replying you get to know the description easier. I feel- "Spilled milk are no where in use, than a packed one"! Hope this helps:)
Take care:)

Maybe not always, but I typically do. It is pretty easy and it keeps my posts organized well.
