I realize it every time one of my kids or grandkids has a birthday. I accuse them of making me older.
Before I got there I always said that I was going to stop having birthdays at 30. To me that was the perfect age. So when I hit 30 rather than waiting for the traditional 40th birthday my family threw me an over the hill party. They wore black arm bands mourning the loss of my youth, black cake, black balloons. It was fun.
I don't actually feel old (most of the time) but it does seem like high school was forever ago.

Well I just hit the big 50 this year and don't feel it. I am not as flexible as I used to be but other than that, I can still give my kids a run for their money when it comes to physical activity. I hike, swim and try to stay as active as I can to keep this aging body as young as I can.
