is it just me or does it seem like holidays aren't like they used to be... i remember being a kid and getting so excited for christmas and easter and stuff that i couldn't even sleep the night before the day came. now it just seems so corporate like it's nice to see everyong together and have everyone enjoying the holidays and spending time with one another but it seems to me the big corporations get more into it than anyone else does. back when i was young everyone you saw said Merry Christmas or Happy Easter to evrybody they saw and now it's like people move out of the way just so they don't have to say it. it's like people are so fed up with all the money they're spending that they don't have time to actually enjoy the holidays. does anyone else get this feeling?

I totally understand! This past christmas wasnt exciting for me, it seems like the novelty has worn off a bit, might be because we dont believe in santa anymore :) x

Nope I don't think that you are crazy. That definately is how things are anymore. No one really has the Christmas spirit. It is all about what you get. I dont believe that it is going to get any better either. It just seems to get worse every year.

exactly it's like every year the people get ruder and ruder, you never see people helping each other anymore, when i wasa young my mom used to make us go help the elderly people load their cars and help them carry stuff in to the apartment building we lived in, now a days that would never happen

You are not crazy, nor are you alone in your thinking.
Holidays have changed so much that it can be difficult to get excited about their coming at all. You are almost afraid to wish others a Merry Christmas or Happy Easter anymore out of fear that you might offend them.
A few years ago we began getting together with a small group of family and friends who enjoy the old-time celebration. It helps keep the way we used to feel alive and kicking.

that's a very good idea getting people together like that it's a shame that people just can't be naturally drawn to the magic of the season anymore, maybe somewhere there is a place where everyone appreciates the beauty of not only this earth but the special times that there are for us to be together

I agree with you. Everywhere you look, there are people who avoid the holidays because they don't want to use their money to buy presents and gifts for people. They forget what it's like to celebrate a holiday. : (

I know what you mean! I feel the same way, what gets me is how early that the stores starts putting everything on the shelves. By the time the holiday gets here your sick of seeing the stuff. Most of the time I'm glad when all the holidays are over for a while.
