Well, another busy Saturday! No, not cleaning out the car, but this was what last weeks car cleaning was all about! This weekend I took the roomie out to get her mom and take her for what she was giving her (and me) for Christmas. She was turning us loose in a craft store with 40 (give or take a few bucks) to spend. Her nephew also wanted to come along too. Her mom wanted to go to Hobby Lobby, so we started there. I didn't get any craft supplies there, but I got 4 CUTE patterns, one for stuffed animals (a horse/unicorn in particular), a pattern for a dragon, a blacket/throw pattern and an apron pattern - and they were on sale for 99 cents each! Then I got a book for strip quilts and a magazine with some cute projects in it. Then we went to Olive Garden, for a yummy lunch, then on to Michael's. At Michael's I got some seed beads and for the house she sprung for a new plant to hang out front, its got pretty lavender/purple flowers in the basket. Then I drove to the Goodwill, stopping on the way to pick up some meds for her dad. Now, I didn't get anything at Goodwill, but I helped the roomie's mom find some large bowls for soup and then went thru all the record albums for the roomie. Finally, we picked up a burger for her dad on the way back to their place. We had a good time and her dad didn't have anyone to nag while we were gone. (I think that was part of why her nephew wanted to go, so his grandfather couldn't nag him while we were gone.) So, did you have a good Saturday too?

Sounds like a great day to spend with family to me. I would've gone as well being I don't like being nagged either. lol We spent Sat. shopping. First took a huge load of newspspers in to recycle for money. 1400lbs. and only $12. Told hubby we not be saving them for cash anymore. Barely paid for the gas to take em in. We then went to Aldi's, to Menard's, to Kmart before heading to Oberweis for ice cream. Then last stop was Petco where I forgot they were holding an adoption fair that day. lol I had to make a round about trip to the back of the store for the cat litter and food instead of going straight thru.

lol It took my hubby several years to realize I wasn't budging on waiting on him hand and foot. Lot of times, if he's not here when meal is ready, he ends up making his own dinner or reheating any leftovers. Clothes not in hamper, they don't get washed, etc etc. I told him he's not marrying a maid and he better remember that. If I'm already up and getting something in the kitchen, I'll bring whatever he wants back, but I won't make a special trip. I expect same from him. I won't send him to get something unless he's going that way already.

Good for you! I wish more people would do that. I kid you not, I'd've slapped him across the side of his head YEARS ago!

I have to say that I would NOT have married this man. And if he wasn't the same before, I'd've long since kicked him out. "K, get me a fork!" he says and she does so. One time I was out there and she put a plate in front of him and he starts demanding stuff while she's BUSY in the kitchen still. I looked right at him and asked if he had a broken arm? He said "No." He also shut up. I used to tell the newlyweds that they needed to not fix their husbands' plate, but they wanted to. I swear if I ever married, he is fixing his own plate and I'm NOT waiting on him. Maybe why I'm not married.

Boy what a nice day you had. My husband and I took the dog to his family's ranch again and let them run in the field. I may do that again tomorrow. They do love to run and they look so pretty running through the fields. This time I got Petie before be we got the house and put him on the retractable leash so he could not run in the street like he did last weekend. They are both crashed in their baskets now. We all came home and napped. When I get the photos or the dogs running in the filed downloaded from my camera I will post them.

Yeah, the dogs like to run, but our dogs wouldn't ever return so we can't afford to do anything like that. Yeah, we could'a worked with them more when they were younger, but I didn't have Cujo when he was young enough and the roomie didn't so... And they do have free run of the back yard. Not as big a yard as the house when I was little, but bigger than at my mother's house was.

That's nice, but I know these dogs, they have never been trained to come back. One time Zoe got out and I had to scare her with the van, to stop her running all the way to one of the busiest roads in town. Happily, I had someone in the car to jump out and grab her when she finally stopped. And I do mean scare her, I had to run the van onto the curb to stop her.

Petie use to run away from us and not come back. He once went thee blocks away and was running in and out of 5 o'clock traffic. He scared the daylights out of me. A friend took my car and I ran after him. WE finally parked sideways in a persons driveway and she and I cornered him and took him home. He has not ran away from home in quite a while knock on wood.

Hi ElicBxn, Not as much as I wanted to do today. I'm completely and fully snowed in. My car disappeared in the parking lot, lol! It snowed, and snowed, and then it snowed some more. What a mess out there although it is kind of pretty. So, I was on the computer most of the day just looking for ways to make some extra money, blah blah. Went over to the WAHM site just to see what was cooking and got a few ideas I wrote down. It'll take a while to check them all out and I didn't feel like exhausting my brain all day, so I came here, HAHA. Sounds like you had quite a fulfilling day for yourself and you certainly had alot more fun than I did. Yum, Olive Garden, mmmmmmm. And all that fun craft stuff you got! You should be pretty busy for a while. Glad to hear you had a great day!

I gotta say, snow and I don't mix, when it snows, I tend to sleep! I have to also say, it tends to be cold in the house too, and cold makes me sleepy.

Yeah, and after it was in the 70's yesterday, it was in the 40's today, but pretty, if a bit windy. The house was warm until the early morning after the front came thru.

I hear ya! Snow and I don't mix anymore either. It didn't bother me as much when I was younger but as I get older, it's like, yuk, it's snowing again. So, needless to say, I didn't go out in it...no mixing here, haha. My little cozy apartment is actually very warm. We have old fashioned radiators (steam heat) that keep it really toasty, I love it. It's a pretty old apartment building, 1940's built, but I really like it here. I'm into kinda like that Shabby Look, haha. Sometimes that heat makes me tired though too. Right now I have on a sleeveless tank top with pj shorts, haha. And sometimes I have my windows open a little. Crazy huh? The heat is included with the rent so it works for me, lol! I know what you're saying about the cold though, it makes you want to just cover up and stay in bed all day. I remember that when I lived down in the basement, brrrrrrr. Geesh, I talk to much, haha.

My Saturday was pretty dull really. The 'boys' treated it like any other working day as the weather was clear, so I spent the day at home with the little one. Your day sounds so much more exciting. Being let loose in a craft store with money to spend sounds like bliss! There's a craft shop near where my Grandmother lives which I absolutely adore. It's tiny, but has so much stuff in it that you can get lost in the labyrinth of shelving. There's always something fascinating to look at or a new idea to ponder, and I never leave empty handed.

I worked and in a way that says it all. One thing we did though was to clean out the garage for one of the apartments and take all the stuff to a thrift shop. While there, I was able to get the manager to say she would donate a sewing machine to us for Day Services, and my ladies got some used books.

I met my sister as we usually do on saturday. We always meet at walmart. It is about halfway between our houses. From there we usually go to other places then go back there and do some shopping.Yesterday we started off there. We did a little shopping there, then we had to take something to cato's. After we did that we went to sonic and got something to eat. Then we went to visit our mother. She lives in an assisted living home. She has alzheimers. She has not been doing too good for awhile.Yesterday we were so thankful and happy to see that she was feeling better. My sisters son,his wife and their son came over too.Mother really enjoyed seeing their son her great-grandson.He is 4 years old. Mother no longer knows our names or who we are,but she does know that we belong to her.We really enjoyed our visit and so did our Mom.We had a.great day. After we left there it was getting dark so we went back to walmart. My sister went inside to get some groceries and I got my car and came home.Yes we had a Blessed and happy saturday.

I sometimes pull out the scrap book I put together for mom's 80th birthday and she enjoys looking that. She has had strokes that have affected her, so she knows who we are, but has trouble with her memory of newer stuff and controlling her emotions. She also has pictures in her room, many that she took herself. It helps to keep her grounded too.

Yeah, I would've probably been as happy to stay in and work on the computer. I only made 11 cents yesterday, so I've been "rabbiting" away since I got home in hopes I will earn more than that today!

I hit a book store last night, but only got the one new book I wanted. When I was at Goodwill - a charity type resale shop - I found some old records to learn French, but we took a pass on them...

Having not gone bowling in many MANY years, because of my bad feet, I can see that its something that many people enjoy. And having family and friends really is what makes doing anything worth while! And then having your son BEAT you! That is AWESOME!

We hit Sam's on the way home, 6 tubs of cat litter, a bag of dog food, tp, paper towels, odoban, some smell goods, sodas, alka selser, some fruit, a few treats. $309.37!!! **faint** but we won't need litter, or tp, or towels, or dog food for a bit...
