My husband REFUSES to fly. He says he has a better chance on the ground... I grew up in airports as my dad was an air traffic controller. I LOVE to fly. I know many people have freas, but Fear of flying seems to be common. anyone here?

I was forced to fly when I was in the Army and I hated every minute of it. I didn't mind chopper as much as I did the planes. They way things are going now I would walk before I would fly now. I never would get even close to feeling comfortable flying. Art

I hate to fly too. I much rather be on the ground, but I will still fly. I just have to fall asleep right when I get on. I can't stand the take off and I hate turbulance. But I guess you can't really help that...lol I think it was more of a fear for me when I was younger, but I have flown so much now that I am a little more use to it. I still hate it though...lol :)

I totally want to keep my feet on the ground although their is just as much dangers from accidents down on the ground as in the sky and takes longer but I have a fear of flying and thoughts of an airplane wreck or takeover is terrifying so I will stick to the ground.

I love to fly in a airplane. I have been on a airplane many times in my life. I flew to texas when I had to go for basic training in the air force, then I flew from texas to my hometown to visit with my Mom and Dad before I flew to Colorado for tech school, from there I flew to my first base which was in Florida, from Florida I went overseas to Turkey in a plane. When I left there coming back to the states I flew to Minot AFB, N.D. So I do love to fly and love the feeling of the plane taking off. I love looking out the windows when the plane is in the air.

I too love to fly in an airplane, its much easier than flapping my arms like a bird. When I was a kid I lived on a farm and there were lots of birds around. I'd watch the pigeons fly, and it looked so easy. I'd run as fast as I could, flapping my arms very fast. Then I'd jump up, but try as I might I never got off the ground.

I am not afraid. And thank goodness. I'd see my mom alot less if I were. But I don't like hitting turbulence. It makes me sick to my stomach. And I could do without the ear popping thing.

I sure do miss this experience and would love to fly once again. The best part that I like about flying is the taking off and the landing. I just love the g force experience you go through. I also love the stewardesses in their pretty uniforms! They always look after you and treat you so nice and they are also full of sunshine with their beautiful smiles! I used to work at Heathrow Airport as a Security Agent and I really loved getting close to the planes. When I was boarding an aircraft once to carry out an inspection of the passenger areas I noticed an engineer working in the cockpit and I politely asked him whether I could take a look inside and he allowed me to. I felt really intimidated on seeing all those different controls and buttons. The engineer laughed and mentioned something about it not being that bad! After years of training the pilots get to learn about every single button! Anyway, I loved my time at Heathrow Airport and it really was a glamerous job! I hope to fly somewhere this year! Andrew
