Do you use sugar substitutes, and if so, which ones?

For many years, I consumed Nutrasweet (Aspertame) without concern. Then Splenda came along and I used that a lot too. Now I have read that both of those can be potentially harmful. I have recently discovered Truvia (made from Stevia), and everything that I have read about it indicates that it is safe since it is a natural, not artificial, sweetener.
What are your thoughts?

No, I don't use sugar substitutes. I don't like them and they usually leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I don't know anything about Truvia. I've just seen the commercials saying it's natural and safe, but I'm skeptical. As you already mentioned, they used to say Nutrasweet and Splenda were safe too.
