Does anyone have recommendations of any good ski mountains for an expert skier? I'm finding the places I go here on the east coast to be a little tame. Any mountain anywhere and please some detailed description!
Thanks

Crested Butte Colo. probably has one of the largest selections of EXTREME skiing in the US. The last two winters they have had tremendous snow fall, although it is hard to predict that one any more. Kicking Horse in Canada sounds like they have everyone beat for steeps. I have never been there, but I have seen pictures, and it is high on my list. Have a great ski season.

I agree. Telluride has a great view. But Crested Butte definitely has some challenging terrain. A friend told me Whistler, BC have some pretty good runs too.

i love the skiing in telluride. i snowboard but their is some double blacks there that are HARD AS HELL! so if youre looking for a challenge go to telluride co. its also a very friendly town. i love it there...its pretty expensive...about $100 a day. but well worth it if you go early. theres over 100 runs, and more than 40% are advanced or expert runs. 18 lifts and over 300 inches of snow! if youre looking for advanced this is it! lol hard...i hope youre ready for advanced colorado skiing...also if youre more of a thrill seeker...go heliskiing. lol i havent done that yet but i heard its a lot of fun. they take you up to the top of a mountain...fresh powder, never skiied on! and drop you out of the helicopter and you ski down the mountain to the village...never done it but it should be a ton of fun! hope this helps and if you have any questions. go ahead and ask me!

I perosnally love skiing, and one resort I go to a lot is Killington. It's in Vermont, so if you live on the east coast it is not very far away. It is the largest ski and snowboard resort in eastern North America, with 7 mountains and 191 trails. It also offer a wide variety of difficulty, including many expert trails. Check 'em out at killington.com!
If you want to go out west, I recommend Vail. It is the largest ski resort in all North America. It offers mostly expert trails, and has 7 bowls and 5,289 acres of trails. You should know in advance that it is at a very high elevation, the peak is at 11,570 feet above sea level. If have any great trouble with elevation, I would not suggest going to Vail. But if you are interested visit them at vail.snow.com.
I hope this helps!

Try Mammoth in the Californian Sierra Nevada mountain range. The skiing season tends to last a little longer there too due to it being to the west and also at a high altitude. It has been a while since I've been there but there are plenty are double black diamond runs and I'm sure plenty of off piste skiing if that's more your thing.
