ive always been open minded no matter what but now im a bit upset since when is it ok for the us gov to say whats true love and who can marry i always thought that seperation of chruch and state where there for a reason and the gov should just legalize gay marriage i mean if anything it would boost the econimy amoung other things and well we know that if people truliy love each other love will break any wall down even if the wall is like the us congress up tight concrete stuffy and antigay well thats all for now

good to see you too DM :)
People talk about separation of church and state and yet marriage is an institution that originated in Biblical teachings.
Perhaps gay people need to invent their own kind of ceremony and call it something else, and ask the government to recognize it. since it is the religious groups that have a problem with marriage being anything outside of a woman and man union.

I agree with you 100% on that issue. It should not even be voted on. It should just be done. the religious people are entitled to their thoughts and beliefs on this matter but it should not be up to them to decide for others. As for the churches, i think it is ok for them to deny marrying them in their church if that is what they believe is right. They ought to however remember that many of their members are probably gay.
