Oh yes, I have tried to quit smoking several times. They say it takes about three times to try to quit before you eventually quit. I say you have to really want to quit before it happens. I guess I'm just not ready to quit yet. Something always comes up, my work and stress related factors, financial problems, just excuses but they keep me smoking.
Do you try to stay away from people who smoke while you are quitting?
What about the patch, gum or lounges?
I have tried the patch but am alergetic to the adhesive from them. There is a new pill out called "Champix" prescription only and costs you $60 for 2 weeks. I took it for awhile until my nightmares seemed real so I quit.
So I have tried several different ways, even "cold turkey". You bet it really is hard to quit.

I agree, smoking is a real bad habit, its a beast thats hard to kill. But with enough faith you can do it...

I have managed to quit twice but always seemed to start again as I enjoy it.
Both times its been due to illness. I find if I have a really bad throat I can't stomach the taste, and don't seem that bothered by it, and just not smoke again.
I did do it once buy simply quitting outright. The first 3-4 days seem like torture but it gets alot better after that point.
Good luck, and I hope you manage to quit :)
