How do you deal with change?

I am not talking about little changes but life altering changes. Most people tend to resist change and I must include myself in that group.
How do you deal with life altering changes, like moving to another city, or losing a loved one?

I am one that really hates any kind of change. I had lost 3 grandparents in 2008 and it was devestating to me. To this day I am still having problems with it. I also do not like when the little things are changed. Especially when my furniture has been rearranged. It drives me absolutely nuts.
