I like reading almost anywhere but my favorite place is in bed. I love settling in with a good book and reading until my eyelids get heavy and I can barely hold them open. I also like cozied up on the end of my couch when all is quiet and the kids are in bed.

Thanks, JenInTN! I remember those days, but with my bifocals, it is harder to read in bed and get comfortable! I think I do my best reading sitting somewhere, but still occasionally can read in bed! I can read most anywhere, as I think I said earlier.

They all sound great to me, saundyl! I do agree about the bath.......I would be the one dropping the book in the water. Thanks for the comments.

I never would have thought of doing that! Don't the pages stick together when they freeze??

Hello idowrite. When I read, my favorite place is next to the table in my office, enjoying the sun on comfortable and warm days. I used to go to read in the park close to the river in my hometown early in the morning when I was a student. It was tranquil and a good place for reading there in the park. I usually stayed there for reading as long as possible in the morning. Of course, I got up early, especially on weekends. But I have to say that the reading I did in the park was all that had something to do with my lessons at school before going to college and after passing the college entrance examination. Reading is fun though. I still love it, but now I do a lot of online reading like news of different kinds, etc. Enjoy reading, friend.

I will always enjoy reading. Today I sat in the middle of the living room floor with a beautiful Anne Geddes book that my sister gave me for Christmas and was totally enjoying it until my daughter called me to babysit. That was ok since my computer crashed last night and being here gave me the chance to be online and respond to your comment!! I will always be a reader and hope that my eyes hold out forever! Thanks for your response.

I would have to say that my favorite place to read is in my bed. It's usually a very comfortable place, especially to read. I find myself less comfortable in a chair. The only other place that I may read is on an extremely comfortable couch. Otherwise, that's pretty much it.

Hello idowrite72! When I am reading, I would really like to be alone. I mean, even if there's someone around I don't care because my whole attention would be on the book. I can say that my favorite place if I read a book would be in the bedroom. I would feel more relax and that I know no one will bother me or will try to interrupt my reading for asking questions.

Thanks for your comments. I can read anywhere if the book is good enough and there could be anything going on and it wouldn't bother me!! I read all the time while raising 4 children all around me doing what children will do!

I love to read in my bedroom with pillows on my back, but I won't lay in bed because I cannot understand what I am reading and I feel so sleepy afterwards. Sometimes I go to the porch of the house to read because fresh air provides me a good mood while reading.

I used to love reading on my porch, but I don't have one here! boohoo I need to think about taking a chair out by the front of the house when the sun isn't out there......might be similar! Thank you for commenting.

I love to read in the bathtub. WHen I am taking a nice hot bubble bath, it is nice to read a good book to relax. Or I will read in my bed and when it is really nice out during the summers, I will sit on our porch swing or lay out and read.

Outside on the porch in the summer used to be my number one spot......no porch where I live now. It seems I don't think about taking a chair out there....DUH!! Thanks for your comments, soulist!

I enjoy being by the water, but never seem to take myself there even though it is not that far for me! Thanks for the response, CherishC.

Hi! Like you, it does'nt really matter much to me where I read my book or magazine as long as I have that extra time in between almost everything I do.

Finding the time is the greatest problem. I have so many books just waiting for me to turn the pages. I want to get to them so soon, but figure that it will be later! Thank you for your response.

I really don't have a favorite place to read either, but sometimes I like to curl up with a book or a magazine while I am taking a nice warm bubble bath. Its relaxing for me.

Hello idowrite72!!! I can say that i can read also in almost everywhere. But I prefer places that something quiet. Like in the room and sometimes even in rooftop. I love those places because there are only the times where i could concentrate on what I'm reading.

A place on a rooftop would be so cool! I just couldn't imagine that one but I think that I would love that. I used to live in a house where I would sit on the front steps all the time when the weather permitted, but it was far from quiet. Thanks so much for your comments, melvill.

Curled up in my bed. It helps me to relax before I go to sleep. I find it better than a lot of other ways to relax. There are times that I get insomnia so bad that I can end up staying up for hours, so, I try and read for a while, if I find it isn't working, however, I will switch to a book that is very dry. Usually that will help.

Thanks for the comments, chulce. Sometimes I have to be careful that I don't get into a book TOO much and keep myself from going to sleep, too. Then I just turn off the light and listen to the traffic!! lol

I used to like to read while driving (of course I wasn't the one driving the car). One time I was reading in the car and the lady driving told me reading in a moving vehicle wasn't good it gives you a headache. I still use to read in cars a little after that but I didn't very much. Anyway I never found a place to read better than in a vehicle especially on a long car trip.

You write that, but I HAVE seen drivers reading while they drive......quite a scary sight! I never could read in the car.....always gave me a headache!! lol That doensn't mean that I don't have a book with me when I travel, because I usually do. If it didn't give you a headache, why did you quit?? Thanks for the comments, sahmof2!

If I know that I am going to be a while in there, I will take something with me, and I do know what you mean. I never have any privacy there, even with my grandkids!! They will even follow me in unless I close the door tightly and tell them NOT to come in. Thank you for the comments!

I used to love that until I got old and got bifocals! They ruin some of the most unusual things. BUT then I just take them off, and adjust the length of my arms and I am good to go! Yep, use reading to go to sleep sometimes, too! Thanks for the response, lazeebee.
