I just realised this morning that i am less than three months from my 40th birthday. its on the 8th of April. What kind of hopes, dreams and aspirations should i be having as i approach this new decade. I have managed to achieve quite a bit,i live in my own house, fully paid for. I have other real estate properties too. I drive my own car, my children are growing up Ok, with the usual "growing pains" but nothing too shocking as yet (thank God).
I dream about affording a round the world sort of trip within the next decade, being to visit at least on city in each continent on this world. Setting up or running some AID programme for disadvantaged women and children and basically "living happily ever after" for another forty years at least. Is this a good dream, what should someone of my age be thinking/dreaming about??

I'm 16, so I wouldn't really know what you *should* be dreaming about. But I don't think there's any right or wrong answer when it comes to dreams. I think at your age dreaming of stuff like holidays and helping disadvantaged people is perfectly normal. After all, you've already accomplished a lot (i.e. getting married, having a children, buying a house, etc). It should only be normal that now that you've got a bit of extra time and money to be thinking of such things.

I am now forty years old soon to be forty one in February. I find that turning forty is a good thing. I feel that I can look back on my life and learn from some of my experiences and mistakes.
I think that you have some ideas that might come to fruition one day if you work hard at it. I am a stay at home mother with aspirations of going to college one day to earn a degree. I suppose that it is never too late!
